I think it's because it's a US recall (so far) and the other 51,000 MMEs were sold outside of the US.
Right, but only the China models weren't made in Mexico. I can't imagine European models were made with different parts.

Most recalls are based on a small amount of actual failures which could obviously grow to a larger number if not addressed. This particular failure possibility could be pretty dangerous if you car faults and suddenly looses power on the highway.

I would imagine that the delay in sending the patch out OTA is partly due to simply testing it, and gearing up for a larger than normal OTA event.

Yes, European and Canadian models will be affected by this as well. But the current NHTSA recall is just for US vehicles, hence the 49k number. I have no doubt the other regions will get their own recall in due time.

I really don’t see the point of this reply. Are you trying to put me in my place? Give me a life lesson? Thanks

Whenever I type on here I’m always writing in the context of our common experience of buying a MachE and in that context yes I feel very unlucky given that I could at least have a car in my driveway that I ordered ten months ago. No I don’t feel the most unlucky person on earth. Most probably anyone on here have solved most of their lives big problems if they’re able to buy a MME, I hope you have too. But yeah you had to be the smartest person in the room I give it to you.
I feel less embarrassed hearing that other people have done this too :)
i read them all on this topic because it is crucial, not just interesting.

so far 286/48924 = 0.58% of cars so far effected. So more chance of getting a flat tyre IMHO. However it's worth playing safe.
very true!

My only thoughts as of late which are similar to others around the actual fix being a software limiter. So when Ford adversities 0-60 in x seconds they need to inform the customer now that sometimes this can be limited by software. I won't be able to count on it every single time, only when the right conditions exist.

I would like the under engineered part replaced so I get the performance I paid for! If economics play a part, all we will be seeing is a software fix. I hope someone sues Ford for misrepresenting actual performance should this play out this way. Time will tell I guess because we do not know if Ford will be replacing the under engineered part in the future or sticking with just a software fix.

hmmm.

I've yet to hear of a single car that came off the line before 5-25 that isn't included in the recall. Have you? The
That’s most likely true, but we won’t know the answer to they until the actual recall is published.
What does the unaffected cars have different? It's obviously not the Ota update.
Why is that obvious?

Anxiously awaiting that VIN lookup...
How can I look up to see if my car was part of the recall. I got a recall code or something but where’s the link to type in my vin ?

Can you be more specific? ?
