Anyone find success buying a new Mach-E off lot vs from a build?

For context, I've already taken delivery of a '22 mach-e a few months ago, and it's great.. and i'm considering cancelling a pending model Y order and simply going for two mach-e's in the house (also considering a EV6 but that's a moot point here).
Obviously we can't order anything new now given the production backlog, though the dealer site inventories do show a handful around. I know that sometimes these will be spoken for already even if they're shown, how much success have people had in buying out of dealer inventories?
My local dealer found me a 2022 Premium canceled special order and sold it to me for MSRP.

I like the car so much that I'm now selling my 2020 Tesla Model 3 (for more than I purchased it for two years ago) to fund acquisition of a 2022 GTPE. I found my GTPE at a dealership 1,500 miles away that will sell it to me for MSRP with X-Plan.

Opportunities are out there if you do your research and don't mind traveling.

I found a GT on a lot, I paid 2000 ADM for it, all others in a 500 mile radius (all trims) were 10k+ ADM. I figured at this point, the way inflation is going, 2000 ADM is still less than likely MSRP for 2023.. so bit the bullet and went for it.

I bought my select, AWD, with technology and comfort package, off the lot at MSRP.

Call, call, call and be willing to drive it home from anywhere.

Be prepared for the salespeople on the phone to try and make you sound and feel crazy for looking to pay MSRP. Stay steadfast, they are the crazy ones and people paying a gigantic ADM are also crazy (my opinion)

Cars are a depreciating asset and overpaying for them is just wild. I'm not at the point in my career where I can just accept to make unwise money decisions. Buying a brand new 50k+ car is enough damage for me :)

I despise ADM's - think they are crazy, show how the dealership system is flawed, and people paying them are just fueling this B.S.

That being said ... 2k adm for a GT is a crazy good find and I think i would have even had to say yes to that offer lol. Enjoy the ride brother!!!!!!!!!

This is very likely and unfortunately a good point.

Thanks! Have had her about a month! Loving it, minus the fact that it could brick at any point :).

When I bought my car off the lot the first MME I looked at (met all my specs) they wanted $5k ADM. I told them MSRP and they came back at $3k ADM and I walked. The car was sold shortly after that for $5k ADM. Later they had another MME for sale that met my specs except SR battery instead of ER battery. They were asking $2k ADM and this time I paid it knowing full well someone else would (the car was Infinite Blue Metallic which had been discontinued by Ford and my wife ONLY wanted that color with the Space Grey interior). It made me really angry that the dealers do this but it’s supply and demand and they’re in the drivers seat. Prior to this I had always negotiated a price under MSRP or used the X-Plan. Only once did I pay MSRP and that was for my 2002 Thunderbird. This was April 2021. I had a car on order but got tired of waiting and heard nothing from Ford so I just caved. Others who waited ended up paying MSRP (some had X-Plan too). I would expect to pay ADM but I wouldn’t pay what I’ve read some say was up to $10k or more.

That's what I did back then, and that $2500 off seems even better now as crazy as it is.

If you're a cash buyer, it's still better to go with Ford Options to get the rebate and then pay it off immediately.

I second this statement. I've never see ADM lower than 5k in 2 months researching the market. Guess I wasn't looking hard enough!

That's great, in Carmel (Seaside) even? The GTPE even better.

You need a free day, a phone, and a good spreadsheet to prevent duplicate calls on the same cars.

After one car with a tax credit, we started pursuing an MME. It may be a drive and flip for profit and take the tax break. But I wanted the ER and found the CR1 with all the options I wanted.

We used apps like Co-Pilot, Edmunds, and Ford websites. Called dealers from Massachusetts, Texas, and Michigan to California checking on listed vehicles. 95% were already customer orders. A couple MME's we missed by an hour or two. We let one slide at MSRP at a small-town dealership we should have bought and re-sold as it was a base Select. Other dealers.s in metro areas were charging as much as $15k ADM.

It was in this process we called about an MME at a dealer and it was sold. BUT, another came up on their available inventory while on the phone. We bought it within 30 minutes. It is a few days from delivery to the dealer. As others have said, we paid a small ADM, but it may be much less than the 2023 price increase.

Picking up a Premium, Extended Range this week in Grabber Blue

I’m lucky, reading these in Canada, decided last week to get one, dealer had one on order to be delivered next week, selling it to me for retail price. Hey if I were to order I’d likely get a different color but consider myself lucky

Luckily these dealer markups haven’t made their way to Canada yet, hey they try and up sell you on stuff like a normal dealer but nothing even remotely close to the US system.

Excited to get my first EV, had an order for a Model 3 a year ago, but have never driven anything but Fords, high hopes for this car!!

Yes, but that wasn't the question that was asked. It was about finding a car in dealer inventory.
It's a given he was referring to msrp, anybody can find one with ADM hence the many replies to the thread stating as much. But, you are correct and I read too much into it.
