Did not one person from Ford ever drive with the windows down during development?

Can't be done with the cheap, atrocious, awful, dreadful, lousy, junky, poor, abominable, unacceptable, POS cargo cover they've designed.

Mine is going in the trash where it belongs and I'm not spending my own money on a ASOK one to replace what Ford should have provided in the first place. At least the windows are tinted pretty well to keep curious eyes off the few things I ever carry.

I know this isn’t an ideal solution, but when I am planning on driving with the windows down, which I rarely do due to aerodynamic losses, I simply take the cargo cover out and put it on the floor of the cargo area.

Yes I removed mine almost immediately. With all four windows open, the cargo cover is quite a sight, like a kite trying to escape.

Unfortunately, the rear center seatbelt also likes to flutter when the windows are open.

Yeah - our cargo cover lasted 1 day.

We took our MME on a long trip, laden with luggage, and our cargo cover was absolutely useless. The front edge of the cover would catch on any luggage that was at rear-seatback level, causing it to pop out completely, fold up on itself, and hinder the view out the rear window. The solution I found was to lift the front edge of the cover while the door was closing so it cleared the luggage. After a few times doing that it dawned on me that there was a real possibility of damaging my arm while the rear hatch was closing, so that was enough of that!

Honestly the whole thing could be replaced with a $10 black table cloth for long travels

It does suck...

but there are several workarounds.

One easy way to stop the flapping is to wire wrap, or rubberband the hooks so they don't disengage from holders.

Second way is to cut some heavier fabric or stiff foamboard to match, and spray adhesive on top.

Third way is to get some paint, and roll a couple layers on top.... but the glare from light colors can be bad....

It's incredibly inefficient to drive with the windows down, especially at speeds that would make things fly around inside the car. So, no, they probably did not make driving with the windows down in a car that they wanted to squeeze every ounce of efficiency out of a priority

man, you guys can really find just every little thing to complain about with this car

Mine is currently hanging from a hook in my garage where it will remain until I sell the car and the new owners comment on how factory fresh it looks

I removed mine the first week, to be able to fit the dog kennel in the back. Maybe just “Store it” , instead of the trash. Good for resale? I was under the impression that the cargo cover was only included if you got the interior protection option.

I got a cover with my Select, and I did not get ANY packages.....

but, I do put a lot of odd cargo in the back which the front edge was always catching on... and it was constantly flapping and unhooking itself when I had windows down driving even stop and go speeds around town.

I tried a couple of fixes, but usually just leave it out.....
