EDIT: This has been superseded by TSB 23-2040.

This is another update to previous TSBs regarding driver assistance error messages. This replaces TSB 22-2109. In this version, a new step has been added to perform an instrument panel cluster configuration at the end. 2022 Mach-E's skip the IPMA reprogramming step since they have the latest IPMA software currently, but I would check for and apply any IPMA updates in the future. If you have the error messages below and BlueCruise stops working, I would suggest this TSB to your dealer.

This article supersedes TSB 22-2109 to update the vehicles affected and Service Procedure.

Issue: Some 2021-2022 F-150, Mustang Mach-E and 2022 Expedition/Navigator vehicles may exhibit various driver assistance system warning messages or inoperative features and/or diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) U3000:49, U3000:89, U2107:68, C1001:54 and/or C1001:78. DTC B1578:78 may also set after an image processing module A (IPMA) on-demand self test is performed. This may be due to software in the IPMA. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the IPMA to the latest level.

Action: Follow the Service Procedure to correct the condition on vehicles that meet all of the following criteria:

ā€¢ One of the following vehicles:
- 2021-2022 F-150 built on or before 19-May-2022

Warranty Status: Eligible under provisions of New Vehicle Limited Warranty (NVLW)/Service Part Warranty (SPW)/Special Service Part (SSP)/Extended Service Plan (ESP) coverage. Limits/policies/prior approvals are not altered by a TSB. NVLW/SPW/SSP/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and verified using the OASIS part coverage tool.

Service Procedure
NOTE: When performing the IPMA software update additional modules will receive software updates. Depending on vehicle features, the coordinated software update includes the IPMA, power steering control module (PSCM), cruise control module (CCM) and/or camera module - rear (CMR).
1. If DTC U3000:49 is present in the IPMA and the vehicle also exhibits indications of a low battery voltage condition such as DTC U3003 present in other modules or an engine no crank/no start concern, check for OASIS messages for low battery voltage and continue with diagnostics for low battery voltage. To clear the DTC, download and run the Reset the Image Processing Module A (IPMA) Learned Values application in Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). Then run the Image Processing Module A (IPMA) Alignment application immediately after. Proceed to Step 2.
2. If DTCs U2107:68 and/or U3000:89 are present after performing an IPMA self-test, clear the DTCs and only perform diagnostics for U2107:68 and/or U3000:89 if these DTCs set outside of an IPMA self-test. Proceed to Step 3.
3. Is the vehicle an F-150 (non-Lightning) built on or before 28-Mar-2022, Expedition/Navigator built on or before 18-Feb-2022 or a 2021 Mustang Mach-E?
(1). Yes - proceed to Step 4.
(2). No - proceed to Step 7.
4. Reprogram the IPMA using the latest FDRS software level. Follow all on-screen instructions carefully to complete all coordinated module software updates.
5. Perform the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) Image Processing Module A (IPMA) alignment procedure.
6. Perform the appropriate FDRS camera alignment procedure.
(1). For vehicles equipped with 360 degree cameras, perform the IPMA - 360 Degree View Camera Alignment procedure.
(2). For all other vehicles, perform the IPMA - Pro Trailer Backup Assist Camera Alignment procedure. This procedure should be performed on all vehicles without 360 degree cameras, even if the vehicle is not equipped with Pro Trailer Backing Assistā„¢ (PTBA).
7. Run the IPC-Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Configuration application in Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS).

I saw this earlier today, printed it out and went to my dealer for an estimate. They said it would be $700-$800 ish. Sounds reasonable to me. Just not sure I want to spend the money and not fix my issue. ???

Would probably be more convenient and perhaps less expensive to get a cable and FDRS license and study the tutorials.

Will think it over this weekend and see what next week brings.

Is your car no longer under warranty?

I have the alert messages on my driver's screen fairly regular now. Kinds afraid the OK button will wear out from pressing it all the time.

I don't even care about BlueCruise. Just want cruise control and related functions to work. I can't make the 22 mile drive hone without the camera alert displaying and kicking me out of ACC. :(

4 hours labor shouldnā€™t be running you more than about $600?

this isnā€™t part of the powertrain warranty? Kinda crazy this stuff isnā€™t covered after 36k miles seeing how many bugs thereā€™s been with the software. Honestly itā€™s a bit insulting.

He said the software updates on these cars never install correctly the first time so he is allowing for several retries. That is consistent with what has been reported here as well. Which is why I think I would be better off buying the cable and trying it myself.

I think this car is going to require a lot of maintenance. Not so much with wrenches and sockets but cables and a laptop. Times are changing....

I don't think so. Powertrain seems fine. No issues. It seems like the camera is faulting and causing all my symptoms. Car drives perfectly fine otherwise.

No these arenā€™t powertrain modules so itā€™s the 3/36 warranty.

Honestly think EVs since they are a lot of software should have longer standard warranties or maybe make software warranty last longer.

Well you could buy the Mongoose from Sam and a Clore PL2320 or two for less than $700. Plenty of people on here would be willing to guide you through the steps remotely if you want.

I think OTAs are provided for life but we know how long those take. Ford should offer an extended warranty for software updates only. They could call it ModuleCAREā„¢. šŸ˜‰
