The admin seems to have changed the thread title. @Administrator , what’s up with that?
Odd - I thought I initially saw it with 2021 but then checked and double checked that it now says 2022. Strange change for the admin to make...

I guess they thought there should be a year in the title, but it completely changes the point of the thread by incorrectly putting 2022 in there. I just changed it to 2021.

Before I start, if you have a Job 2 or 2022 MME, you don't need to chime in and tell us that you've had a functional frunk button since Day 1. We know, but Job 1 cars haven't.

Ford released new updates for the BCM (Body Control Module) and GFM (Generic Function Module) last night in FDRS that seem to have activated the electronic release mechanism for the frunk. There was still no button on the screen, but the emergency release button inside the frunk and the keypad control both worked. I'm sure Ford will push an APIM config eventually to add the missing button to the Sync screen, but @i8iridium posted the line where it can manually be changed with FORScan here.

All of this is to say that @Jimrpa 's frunk button really does seem to finally be coming. If you have FDRS and FORScan, you can get it today (still not in FordPass though). If you don't have FDRS, please don't call your dealer and ask them for the updates. There is no current service campaign for it, and there may not be before it starts rolling out OTA. But this is progress, right?

Aren't you also supposed to post this on social media so Mr Farley can take credit for it?

I wish they had a frunk button on the key fob and while I'm complaining, why didn't they put a remote start button? I love the one on our challenger, especially when it's super hot outside.

It's finally working on my Job 1 car (build date 27.05.2021). I installed the updates for the BCM and GFM via FDRS. But I can only open the frunk via the key fob, because I have neither on the touch screen nor in the app a button to open the frunk ?

What a conundrum. I have FDRS, but want to make sure that my car will now receive OTA updates.

How long can I hold out? EA's aren't even seeing this yet, right?

I'd love a frunk kick sensor if we're making wishes

Just curious - how do you even check that?!?!?
You just have to contort yourself into the frunk, slam it shut, and hope for the best. Or, like @Logal727 said, you can just press the button with the frunk open and listen for the sound.
