BlueCruise - never changes to hands free mode. Always on "keep your hands on wheel" mode

Hello, I just got my 2022 CA Route 1 for almost 4 days now. I tried BlueCruise many times in major freeways at Southern California (91 and 405fwy) It never turned to hands free. Is there a setting in the screen I need to enable for hands free? Or could this be defective?

When I click bluecruise, it does say bluecruise is activated and click "OK"

where can i check if handsfree is enabled?
In your OP, you said, "When I click bluecruise, it does say bluecruise is activated and click 'OK.'"

I'm assuming "click bluecruise" means "enable cruise control by tapping the button near my left thumb" and "it does say bluecruise is active" means that you're seeing a warning on the instrument cluster that BlueCruise is active and that you need to remain focused on driving.

If that's right, this means you've got cruise control and lane centering both active. That message pops up the first time both of these become active on each driving session.

So the next thing to check is the maps expiration like Rick suggested.

Also, hands free mode won't enable unless you're on a pre-mapped, restricted access, divided highway. So the CA-91 probably doesn't qualify between Rt 1 and the 110, but if you're east of there then it probably would work.

I recently received my vehicle back from service and my handsfree hasn't worked since. Turns out, my "Connected Services" in the app is still now showing as "Pending Activation." My dealer is trying to figure out why.
