Thank you for the picture.

Confirming: over 80 sustained with silly acceleration and no gray bars over 450 miles and over 250 miles. Interstate and some two lane. DCFC charging to 100, then drain down to recharge DCFC each time after dealer pick up. Build date end of June. My display is a little different also. Maybe something changed, but my GT is fast and fun. No power clipping. I don't drive flat out all of the time, and it was not on a track.

This thread of disappointment is not consistent with my experience. I tried to wear the car down to show the bars and give up. Mine would not, so I posted.
That’s great! All that’s missing is some proof. Post a pic, video, whatever.

Post a picture of the instrument panel with the cruise set at 80mph. Use bluecruise so you don't crash ;)

I normally wouldn't bother replying to this but put simply if you have had the dashed gray bars or produced the lock out solid gray bar complete with cool down timer on lift off after acceleration then you simply haven't pushed the go pedal with any vigor or have not fully paid attention to the power meter.

If the performance it delivers works for you and your driving circumstances then great, but until I start seeing documented times of newer builds with 1/4 miles in the 11's range and sub 10 second 0-100mph times that would back up the power limitations having being removed then this just has be classed as user error.

Glorious 3-5 seconds for sure. Once I hit 90 I back off :)

I think the single sided cooling would have been fine for a battery pack that was maybe 1-2 inches thick.. but look at the thickness of this.

Those are 7s packs in 4p arrangement. I'd be interested in seeing if anybody could measure the temp difference (via FLIR) between the top cells vs. the bottom ones.

Maybe I'm completely wrong the cooling is sufficient and Ford is being over aggressive with thermal management. On the flipside, these packs should last 8+ years then (assuming no random bad cells) since they are babied by the BMS. The poor HVBJBs though.
I really can’t see them delaying the GT for so much longer compared to the regular MME and then under-engineer the cooling. I am more aligned to the line of them being too conservative and not as well versed to the battery technology with limited use case. Look at how conservative they were with the charging curve and access to total battery power.

I used to think like you. Even held on hope they would release more power like the charging curve and capacity.

Then we got the HVJB recall.

And as long as cars are still failing completely, I see zero chance of a power upgrade.

I also wonder if the charging curve and capacity updates adding to the HVJB failures. Ford is probably wondering the same.

It’s quite possible - my GTPE has not had the issue yet with the contactors - mine is a 22 March build which I think should be affected. I honestly don’t think about the 5 seconds anymore, I just enjoy driving the car and love its handling and ride quality. If I want even more fun I just take my 16 GT 5.0 out and enjoy completely different experience. I find I now have the best of both worlds - I could not drive my GT V8 every day - I would get tired of it. As a daily the MMEGT PE is perfect for me. As an early adopter we have to be ok with compromises - this is Fords first true EV after all.

There is no GT in the wild running some sort of updated pcm strategy that allows more than 5 seconds of full power. None. Anyone commenting to the contrary is mistaken.

Just like the member back in May or June of ‘21 that swore they had BlueCruise enabled and then posted videos purportedly showing automagic “lane changes”. Nope. Sorry.

Its interesting how people can deny reality because "it still feels pretty fast to my ass-o-meter."

Yep. For those that only ever run it up to 75-80mph it might as well be an 11.7@115mph machine. Too bad really.

Congrats on having the only GT in North America without the power limit. Everyone else is not so lucky.
Incorrect - he is the only GT in North America without a power meter! Or a rebadged Premium.
