I've been reading all of the forums and commenting on a few of the different members who've had to go through the repair ordeal - while knowing full well that this has to be happening to me at some point. I felt sorry for the others that went through it, now I'm here feeling sorry for myself. I get the new car/new technology adoption thing and I knew the risks that go along with that when I went into this.

I just really can't stand interactions with dealerships (is anyone excited to take their car for repairs though?) and have some concerns, listed in order:
-A dealership -nearby- that knows how to fix this properly without making things worse (like breaking the battery cover, etc)
-A dealership that will work on the car even though I didn't buy it from them (I bought it from a dealership 400mi away)
-Ability to get a loaner for what seems I will be in for a lengthy time waiting for the parts.

These forums are a blessing but can also cause me some anxiety in looking for problems that I may or may not have - only because others ran into them. The takeaway though is that I am educated on what to expect here thanks to all of you. We'll see how it goes tomorrow when I start calling around.

Did your repair start with needing the hvbjb also?
I have no experience with calling the BEV number but do they have the ability to recommend competent dealers or do they just look up zip codes or make you tell them?

I live in the flatland of Illinois and our connector stuck open on a short trip to Jewel, barely a mile. even though I supposedly had the recall the week before OTA the car stopped in the middle of a turn lane....

Come on Ford....

Yes, I brought mine in because of a failed HVBJB. I had a case open before going to the dealer, I can confirm they are not able to find dealers that are competent, they just do a. Zip code search. The dealer I took mine to had an EV specialist that wouldn’t talk to Ford engineering, screwed up the first HVBJB replacement on my car, then quit and now that dealer is no longer EV certified :/ Ford ended up towing my vehicle to another dealer and they are now waiting on the gasket for the second replacement. They are actively working with engineering now, at least according to the BEV team specialist.

i am sorry that this is happening to you. Without a lot of MMEs in my area I suspect a reasonably high chance of being a guinea pig out this way as well. I hope you get yours back soon.

I called the BEV phone number (800) 392-3673 this AM to get a case number started. I can't really tell if that helps with much of anything. The CSR from Ford said that all dealerships know how to work on this when it was pretty evident that most do not (in my upstate NY area).

If it helps anyone on here, In the Western NY area the only dealership that I could find that seems to have done this repair was Towne Ford. The other 3 that are nearby were also "EV Certified" but have never had to drop a battery pack, even a few of the big ones. I'm grateful for their honesty - each of them put me on hold to talk to discuss with their technicians.

This car doesn't even get an initial diagnosis until 9/19. That piece I think is such a shame - considering that Fordpass immediately (after the splash screen stopped hanging) lit up with the HVB errors. Like I said earlier - I wish they could get the parts in transit and save everyone some time.

I primed the pump with the service department armed with the P0ADE scan tool code, TSB 22-2178, and the case number. I know that service departments hate customers who self diagnose their cars, so I will try to stay out of their way moving forwards.

Anyone with cojones driving around with the SVS warnings until their service date?

Curious, are you still driving it - did they give you a loaner?
Kinda a funny story… Once the dealer confirmed it was the warning for the HVBJB failure coming up soon and then they saw the part was going to be at least 2 weeks out, the dealer said I could come and pick up the car to drive and then bring it back once the parts arrived. At first I was going to explain why that would not be the best plan, but then I realized the car would be much safer sitting in my garage rather then out on their lot. So currently it is sitting in my garage waiting for the parts to arrive and a tech with the time and desire to install it.

As far as the loaner is concerned, I didn’t ask for one. My wife works from home and we have an extra car at the house so I really don’t need one fortunately.

Having the BEV team assist does help, they seem to do a good job and are able to expedite parts to your dealer etc when they are available. Hopefully yours goes smoothly! BEV team will pay for gas if you get/use an ICE loaner or rental and complain about the price of gas :) keep your receipts for any costs incurred by having this happen. At least so far in my experience they will try to make it right.

The BEV team might be able to help speed things up, or at the very least get you set up with a loaner/rental in mine meantime.

The ford account that monitors these forums is funny.

I asked them for qualified EV dealerships in my area and they told me to work with my dealership.

I got hit with the faults on Sunday. The first dealer I called also said 9/19 to diagnose. I picked a different one and will be in 9/8.

I did contact Ford here and a case has been opened. We'll see if that helps.

I am sorry to hear this. Are you still driving it?

Of the four dealers I called, only one has actually removed the pack from the MME. im not sure if the others would have offered earlier dates. In my brain I prioritized experience with the repair, but im second guessing myself now and wondering if im better off getting an earlier appointment.
