I don't have any Alexa-type devices in my house, I don't want them in my car either unless there is a compelling reason for it. And video streaming ain't it, I will never use that in any circumstances.
That good since Alexa doesn't provide video streaming.

According to the Power Up notification, Alexa allows control of video streaming through the Ford streaming service. So it may not be the direct link, but it is the control functionality.

So like I said, do you know of any reason why I want this in my car? Give me a reason to activate it.

Give it a few days. If you go to your Ford Connected Services page, you might see “Awaiting Activation” or something like that for Alexa. If you do, you’ll see it pop up in a day or two.

You're going to have to find your own reason (or not). If you don't already use Alexa, you surely don't need to start now. The same Ford streaming subscription will get you audio streaming through Alexa and video streaming outside of Alexa. You can also use video streaming over WiFi without a subscription at all.

Alexa has a better sense of humor to entertain 8 year olds compared with Siri.

Alexa is very good at telling me when my Amazon packages arrive in my garage so I don't run them over with my car.

She can probably turn on my seat heater. That control in the UX was developed by a designer who never had a cold butt while driving the car, so that might be good -- if I want to go thru the friction of downloading the Alexa app on my phone and enabling the car controls.

That's about all that I've found.

3 years of Alexa access (without streaming) are included. What happens after 3 years is anyone's guess.
After 3 years, Alexa take over your car and holds it for ransom.

it doesn't say video streaming does it? I think they just mean streaming music and podcasts, etc.

I usually press the button on the steering wheel. Short press for Ford Assistant, which I never use and long press for Siri.

I did not initiate the option in the menu to say ‘Hey Ford’ or whatever it is as it did a number of false searches based on the radio station sound.

if I were to initiate Alexa, do I hit a button or do normal Alexa routine by saying, Alexa, without pressing any buttons?

Someone tell me why I want Alexa in my vehicle? What can it do that the Ford voice command system can't?

Alexa is faster. It also does a lot more. You can ask it the weather, restaurant suggestions near your car. Music, questions, jokes, games, I use it with blink cameras and light switches. I can ask it to turn on lights as I am approaching my house. Just so many things I like it about it but I know there are lots of people who want nothing to do with it so I understand that just giving you some ideas of the things it can do and what I like about it.

Anyone have a list of vehicle commands that Alexa built-in can control?

So far I've found:

Change the temperature to X
Turn off A/C turns off the A/C
Switch to Radio station
Switch to XM station? (I sort of got this working but not sure of phrasing)
Weren't those voice commands always available? As far as I remember I was always setting the temperature that way.
