And although some extra-careful drivers in cold regions do not need to be warned, others well might need to be warned... otherwise Vermont and other cold states and provinces would never ever suffer needless accidents, injuries and deaths on annual appearances of black ice... that would all be due to vacationing tourists from Florida right?
A warning stops being useful when it’s on the screen nonstop for months. That little orange light isn’t going to save anyone from black ice.

Look at it this way, think about how stupid the average person is and realize that half of em are stupider than that.

It’s still useful if not only from a Ford liability standpoint even displayed all of the time in cold climates.

When I first was exposed to the Frost snowflake in my 1990 BMW 318, I was living in Berlin and, later, in Bavaria. In those cold wet climates, it could be 50+ degrees and sunny, and then 2 hours later, cloudy and freezing. So the Frost (in other words "the road surface is now freezing") warning was quite useful to alert that the driving traction conditions would change throughout the day from safe to less safe, and sometimes back. I thought so anyway. In southern Bavaria, sometimes they would change from one side of the valley to the other side which was perpetually in the shade.

My instructions are also useful to turn the Frost snowflake permanently off.

Turned my car in this morning and I had the snowflake without having to do the mod ! Seems to be a bitter reminder of why I can’t stand winter! Darn it’s cold out!!

Turned off the annoying double honk tonight. Now I can work on the GTPE in the garage at night and not wake up the whole house when the car is on and the door closes! Thanks @21st Century Pony for the write up!

MME AWD ER (Premium) built in April 2022

Mods on my wish list (not sure if possible at all):

- Switch Headlights to AWD variant (EU model) and enable Matrix LED
- Add Ambient lighting to the Dashboard and link it to the APIM settings so that it behaves like in an AWD/GT

Not sure if it will ever become reality though.

By the way how are such mods behaving with OTA updates? Are they overwritten or kept?

All my Forscan tweaks so far have stuck well through the OTAs.

Looks like we have identical cars, down to the paint color.

Just wondering, I think US cars use EPA milage calculations to compute an estimated range and non-US use WLTP to calculate. I think the MME gets more milage under WLTP calculations, wondering if this can be changed in Forescan or is it really the same in both.

Range on the GOM is based on driving history, not regulatory testing methodology.

I get that, but the way it's calculated is based on the EPA model, just factoring in different percentages, at least that's what I thought.

I am almost certain that my 2021 Job 1 Premium already has the frost warning enabled. It was almost cold enough this morning to test that, but I was warmer at home. By the weekend, it might stay colder during the day.

I just want to turn on the frunk release in the Access control page. Already have the BCM update and can do this from the door pillar.

I believe you are mistaken. But even if the GOM starts with the WLTP tested range as the range displayed when you first get the car, it will quickly adjust to your actual range after you start driving it.

EU owners have repeatedly complained about failing to reach the WLTP estimate because it is very hard to achieve with normal driving. Even the EPA range is hard to achieve, especially if you do a lot of highway driving like I do. My car's EPA range is 270, but I am only getting 240. That is due to the way I drive, not due to the EPA testing methodology.

I get all that, but in guessing and factoring in your usage, it still looks to the local model to calculate. If this isn't the case, so be it. And maybe it's a function of driving types, long highway driving, verses city that may be skewing it, but I do think our NonUS brothers get higher numbers on their GOM on average. Of course your milage may vary ?
