Knowledgable or not I could care less man. The dude came at me sideways, telling me to move on like he's my grandpa or something. Weird as hell. I'm not looking for beef but at the same time I'm not going to be told to "move on" by some weirdo on a mach-e forum.
Goodbye and good luck with your asinine attitude. Douche

Just sayin that after you get your MME he’s the one that has answers to more complex issues. I think he’s retired so he’s probably someone’s grandpa. My guess is that when he said “move on” he meant “let it go”. Life’s too short. The whole order process sucks and the alternative can be worse as you discovered.
Fair enough but I can promise you he wouldn't approach me like that in person. Once there is a screen and keyboard to hide behind, people get brave and start telling people what to do which is unacceptable.

A lot of us have found Mach Es available on autotrader. However of the 20 to 30 I have inquired about the answers I got were it was a customer order or its available but with $10k ADM. The only legit vehicle I found available for MSRP was in Savannah and only available to Georgia residents; I am from Florida and they would have charged me $10k ADM.
Same here. Things are changing quickly tho. Many more models on the lots that have been there for weeks/months.

I don't begrudge you for naming and shaming that dealer, very frustrating for a price to change that quickly.

I think you have to reset your expectations a bit and realize the dealers don't have much incentive to work with you on a complicated out of state sale, shipping a car hunderds of miles, and getting no trade back from you.

If you aren't willing to go get the car and/or not including a trade, don't expect the dealers to put a lot of effort into winning your business. If you were local to them and had a trade I bet you that car would have been in your driveway for maybe $5k ADM. They can sell it local for less hassle and make more profit then trying to deal with you.

My suggestion is to limit your search to distances you are willing to go in person for at a minimum. A trade will help sweeten the deal for the dealer. I'm assuming your not trading, or were at least not going to trade if you were trying to get a dealer to ship the car halfway across the country.

I searched for months for a GTPE, checked all the car sites and dealer sites. Ended up paying 5k ADM, but the dealer gave me a good price on my trade after haggling and I have no regrets.

Keep searching, lower your expectations on what a dealer is willing to do for you, and consider ordering a 23. You can cancel your order if you find one before.

You can also tell me to kick rocks if you don't like my advice. May want to consider how you reply to people when you get advice you don't like though...

Who are you? Ah another brave keyword warrior hidden behind a screen. Coward. I'm not even sure why you commenting. This didn't involve YOU. Were you not made to feel special as a child? Is this why you feel the need to interject yourself into something that doesn't involve you?

Ideally I'm looking to get this before Xmas....
Ideally everyone would like to get theirs before end of the year.

Personally I would love to find an on the lot MME because my 2022 order was pushed into a 2023.

$10K ADM is very good IMO.
Makes it less painful after the $7500 tax credit.

My local So Cal dealers are hiking up $15K-$25K because they know Californians paying $6/gallon on fuel will pay the premium for an EV.

Maybe you should consider negotiating a CA dealer's offer because you get more rebates for an instate purchased EV.

When I got my Lightning, I got the $7500 tax credit plus:
$2000 CVRP
$750 Clean Fuel
$1000 Utility company rebate

CVRP $2000 rebate received last month:

Advice vs being told that I am "not looking at the numbers right" are much different especially when this person was truly not looking at the entire picture. Im not sure when you were looking for your car but things are changing daily as we get closer to the end of the year. 5k markup in state is reasonable.

I'm not on here to make friends. If someone doesn't like that I refuted advice it isn't personable. Some people share your sentiment but I have also received input from others who share mine. So I don't really care if you kick rocks or not, but I'm not really looking for your opinion on how I should or shouldn't respond to bad advice.

Well done. I believe as we get closer to the end of the year dealers will come off of their markups. I hope at least.

can you tell me more about those rebates please? I was under the assumption that if I bought in state I would get the federal $7500 a qualify for the
$2k CVRP. The $750 clean fuel is a tax credit, rebate, or check? And the $1000 from the utility is state wide? We have PG&E

Yes 100%. It's just been a multi week search and I thought I found one. Wait I did, but then I didn't.
Of all the dealership horror stories, this is frankly pretty low on the list. A saleguy told you one thing - then the manager intervened and said nope. That's not a bait & switch. A bait & switch would be you actually forking over a deposit, or even worse flying to take possession, and then the dealer tried to tack on the markup or swap out the car.

What you are describing is... completely typical of folks trying to find a popular new car in this market without ADM. You're going to need to talk to a LOT of a dealers, and a lot of them will give you the runaround. The sad truth is that ADM is part of the dealership model - they sometimes lose their shirts on excess inventory, and they try to make it up with raising prices on hot sellers. Eventually the dealership model will die - but not yet.

Waaaaaay back in spring of 2021, I had to talk to over a dozen dealers to finally find one selling a grabber blue first edition at X-Plan price (yes, that used to actually be possible before our economy went to hell).

Good luck with your search. Stay patient. Don't get your hopes up. :)

I hope you are correct in terms of pricing lowering to more "reasonable" prices by the end of the year.

My Lightning & MME dealer has been contacting me every week with a "incoming customer cancelled" MME with a $15K ADM which they are willing to give to me for $10K over MSRP as I am a recent customer of theirs...

I really wanted a 2022 IBSM Select w/ C-T option which I ordered.

Forced to get a 2023, my build is in December which means early 2023 delivery with unknown tax credit amount.

CVRP & CCFR Rebates only work if you purchase in state only.

Buying out of state forfeits both rebates.

CVRP has income requirements - post sale - submit contract and possible income tax request.

CCFR is an immediate POS rebate given only by the dealer at the time of purchase (currently program ran out of funds).

Local utility depends on your area - go to their website for EV rebates.

Good points. Not a bait and switch but something awfully similar. I feel like we are on the precipice of a return to MSRP and deeper incentives. It will only take one OEM to up production and stock dealer lots. Others will follow and we will see a return of MSRP. Higher interest rates. Collapsing housing market. It's happening now.

Someone will be left holding the bag. Interest rates went up another .75% and housing market is taking a dive. Why would anyone with any decent sense pay markup when all these indicators are flashing in our face? Dealers will be begging customers to purchase models off their lots in a matter of time.

thanks for the further info on those incentives. 5k markup I believe is where the sweet spot lies. I'll hold out. I'm ok without one. ?
