Holy cow, I'm just trying to give you another perspective. Don't post on a forum if you literally want no responses.
I was simply telling you that you forget some details in your little scenario. You said I wasn't looking at the numbers right. This is a forum, should I just let you perpetuate inaccurate information? I was merely telling you, that you were wrong. Sorry that hurt your feelings.

I was going to say @RickMachE can be extremely straightforward and that isn't everyone's cup of tea, but you are also being very straightforward in responding to @Neil4Real.

I think Rick is probably right about what happened - they saw a salesperson leaving money on the table and intervened resulting in a waste of your time. If it's any comfort, some people get it much worse, wasting much more time by physically showing up at a dealer or ordering a car only to find out about a mark-up for the first time when the vehicle arrives.

Anyway I agree with Neil, bottom line is 2023 GTPE costs more and $7,500 tax credit will be halved for the Mach-E, so that right there is worth several thousand in mark-up on a 2022 you are purchasing this calendar year (with the additional soft factors of you get a tax credit when you file for taxes in early 2023 as opposed to early 2024 and have the vehicle sooner).

Fair enough. Thanks for your input. Although, the numbers don't lie- Out of state has a net difference of nearly 5k versus in state. I could order a 2023 in state and it would ultimately be less net costs than an out of state vehicle with a 10k markup. That 10k markup for an OUT OF STATE vehicle effectively is a 15k markup to my wallet.

Most car dealers list stock on autotrader just fishing for leads. Even customer order cars are listed on autotrader. When you make an inquiry it will go to an internet or junior car sales person. That person rarely sets the sales price.

If you look for new cars on autotrader you will get dissappointed more often than not.

I have found more than a few available through autotrader but thanks for your insight. I am using multiple sources and not autotrader solely as that would be a bit short sided.

I mean who are you? I don't know you and you tell me to move on? Bizarre. I doubt you'd be so rude in person, or at least you'd think twice about it. Keyboard Jedi knight
FYI, @RickMachE is one of the most knowledgeable participants on this forum. If you’re just looking for a beef, go to a different forum. Let’s be civil. Your dealer screwed you but direct your anger there.

Knowledgable or not I could care less man. The dude came at me sideways, telling me to move on like he's my grandpa or something. Weird as hell. I'm not looking for beef but at the same time I'm not going to be told to "move on" by some weirdo on a mach-e forum.

Have you checked with Walnut Creek ford? They weren’t charging markups but I’m not sure if that’s still the case. Both my local dealerships were xplan dealers until sometime this year, then everything got a markup lol.
they offered To buy my 1year old select with 20kmiles for MSRP so there’s apparently no shortage of fools paying crazy prices haha.

Red River Ford in Arkansas gave me a price of 73,500 for a 2022 GTPE. I found the vehicle on autotrader and selected for the dealership to contact me. I was contacted by Michael Tarrants through text and was told that the vehicle was available for sale. I then asked for a out the door price along with a window sticker photo. I received a text. (see attachment) I then called Michael to confirm price. Price of 73,500 before tax was confirmed. I live out of state and asked him to get me a shipping quote and call me back with a total price including sales tax for the state I live in. I received a call a short time later telling me that management has decided to add a 10k markup (see attachment of transcribed voicemail) on the agreed upon price. I then called and asked to speak with a manager and was essentially told too bad too sad we are adding 10k onto the agreed upon price.

This was beyond frustrating. I have been searching for some time for this car and to finally find one with no markup and then for them to pull a bait and switch like this is flat out wrong. There's nothing that I can do, but I wanted to share this to others as a cautionary tale. ?

Just sayin that after you get your MME he’s the one that has answers to more complex issues. I think he’s retired so he’s probably someone’s grandpa. My guess is that when he said “move on” he meant “let it go”. Life’s too short. The whole order process sucks and the alternative can be worse as you discovered.

Well... If you don't want to "move on" you could always choose the alternative and dwell on your frustrations and argue with anybody who responds to your post.

How's that working out for you?

Ps... Instead of arguing with people about how much it would cost to buy the car from out of state and ship it to you, did you ever consider just... I don't know... Driving it home? Sure, you could ship it to your house for $2k, or you could fly there for $300 and drive it home for the cost of DC fast charging + 1 night in a hotel. Then collect your $7500 rebate.

If you aren't willing to travel or think you will find a better deal, just do what others have suggested and move on.

Either way, don't ask for suggestions and then criticize what people recommend.

A lot of us have found Mach Es available on autotrader. However of the 20 to 30 I have inquired about the answers I got were it was a customer order or its available but with $10k ADM. The only legit vehicle I found available for MSRP was in Savannah and only available to Georgia residents; I am from Florida and they would have charged me $10k ADM.

have either of you @RickMachE considered that the panoramic roof blue cruise are standard as part of the 2023 GTPE?

Geez. Bunch of snowflakes. Do you know what criticize means? I simply provided an alternative view because some of these people feel as if they have an intimate knowledge of my situation. Yourself included. Don't be so presumptuous. It makes you look foolish. I'm not being given suggestions, I'm being told that im not looking at the numbers correctly, when in fact, as I said before, the numbers don't lie. Should I apologize for this? Im confused. And im not retired like most of you boomers on here, I can't spend 2-3 days driving across country, some of us have jobs.
