MSRP 78K for A GTPE 2023….pretty similar
Base iX doesn’t even have adaptive cruise nor a 360 camera. Average trim with decent packages costs $105K. I know because test drove one and was considering buying one.

Top trims have air suspension and 30 speaker B&W audio. M60 trim is faster than the GTPE and has a larger battery too.

Can you pre-order a Blazer EV yet? None of the other alternatives sound appealing.

I just looked - $83,000 for a model Y? That’s stupid. And definitely not competitive with a Mustang Mach E Premium AWD, unless you’re tripping acid. Even if you pull off the “FSD”, it’s still $68,000! Not competitive pricing for the feature set.
FYI the price on my mme premium AWD ext range as I ordered: $68700 pretty crazy if I pay that, maybe hopefully I get a private offer as a converted order to decrease it. But that’s what it is now. So about same for MY (which is without FSD because who buys that imo).

Ah, from a price, features and styling perspective, the Blazer EV is by far the closest competitor. But it doesn’t exist yet.

Definitely a Camaro vs Mustang situation when that car finally shows up. Many of the other vehicles mentioned aren’t even in the same class.

Would you compare a BMW X5 to a Ford Explorer just because a loaded explorer costs similar to a base X5?

I think not.

I haven't seen anyone mention the Volvo XC40 Recharge, but I think it's a bit smaller. The MY and EV6 are the closest to the MME. An EV6 was my 2nd choice.

The 2022 mostly pre inflation pricing + 4000 Ford dealers + 70k plug ins make MME's best.

I just sold my Mach E GTPE as there were a few issues I couldn't get past, most notably instrument cluster functionality, power limiting at low charge and/or after 5 seconds, and the HVBJB problems (I take the car to remote areas throughout the winter and have been lucky to make it 12K miles without a failure; did not want to push my luck this winter). The problem was I needed a replacement and EV was a must. Through extensive cross shopping, the only cars I felt could be a substitute were the Ioniq 5 and EV 6 (after taking into account styling, performance, functionality, reliability) but alas it would just be trading some issues for others.

If budget was a limiting factor I truly would have kept the Mach E as I do believe it is the best in its class despite its shortcomings. In the end I bought a Taycan 4S as its replacement.

Sized wise, model Y.
my son had a model 3, the mach-e better in several aspects:
Full door framed windows, stupid windows on the model 3 would freeze to the body and could not open the door, same with the flush handles.
mach-e has the hatch back function of a model Y, but at a lower entry price than a model 3.
i like that the mach-e has the small cluster behind the steering wheel, the model 3/Y has nothing.
software wise, the model 3 had a cool screen where you could visualize traffic/objects surrounding you, very handy at Night or in fog.
no waythe tesla would come close price wise to a 22 base select rwd sticker of $45K minus tax credit.

I wasn’t able to price a 23 but I found a window sticker for a 22 premium AWD ER that shows it to be under $60K

I sat in a Genesis GV60 today. Wow, that is an impressive looking interior. In Canada it’s priced below the MME.

I will have to vote for the I5 or EV6 as the strongest competitor. Model Y is close too.
I haven’t tried the Ioniq 5, but I did sit in the EV6.

The higher speed charging architecture is great. That said, three deal breaking observations for me:
  1. Very limited headroom in the back seat. I’m 6’3”. One of my sons is 6’4”. I could not sit up straight in the back seats. My bald head hit the ceiling. I’m not talking a gentle brush against the ceiling. This was solid head pushing up into the headliner, bending the neck, unacceptable for a sedan, let alone an EV/CUV ….bad headroom.
  2. The amount of piano black plastic, plastic chrome, cheap panel flexing and creaking noises. No go.
  3. And….. drum roll….. THE EV6 and Ioniq 5 are not set to be able to receive OTA’s until the 2024 model year. We’re not talking about enabling OTA’s on 22’s and 23’s in 2024. We’re talking about the 2024 model year being the first to be able to receive OTA’s.

The Subaru Solterra and Toyota BZ4X are similar comps in terms of non-GT editions of the Mach E. They’re a little too “uninspiring” for me, personally. Too slow and lacking in a usable frunk. Toyota already had the major recall but I’d expect very good reliability from the battery systems. Far superior ground clearance for soft roading.

My opinion is based on 2022 experience. I've been waiting 11 months for my MME order and still don't have it. Meanwhile, I bought a Hyundai Ioniq 5 which I now consider a superior BEV. After all, it's hard to evaluate a car you don't have and never have even sat in.

I bought the First Edition EV6GT in February because the GTPE wasn’t coming. The Mach E finally showed up in May so now I own both. They are different. I see the Mach E as a “muscle car” and the EV6 as a touring vehicle.

I have over 14k on the EV6GT including several long road trips. The lead designer was Albert Biermann from the BMW “M” Group. It’s been a phenomenal performer and I’ve had no issues. Updates have been done by download and a USB drive.

The Kia isn’t perfect. The navigation system suck pond water but I always have a Garmin GPS that works from satellite - not cell coverage. The MME navigation was fine but it also cuts out with cell.

I only have 3,300 miles on the MME. I took several weeks to get Ford and the dealer to replace a panel that was damaged in transport. It has now been out of commission for over a month waiting for the HVBJB repair. It took ten days to get an appointment to diagnose the obvious. I engaged Ford BEV and they expedited the part in days but the dealer hasn’t opened the car door in three weeks. I would drive it more if I had the opportunity.
