I thought the 2023 models are not eligible for California Clean Air rebate according to their website. Am I missing something?
it doesn't explicitly say the 2023 is disallowed, right? it's just not listed. it might just mean they need to update the list...

yes, i am also CU84. i think there's some debate about whether the ramp # determines a route or is only the final destination. i think maybe here in this thread there were two people with the same ramp but different routes.

i just asked the dealer if there was any update; on VINView they have a location tab that gives somewhat realtime location information for the train. that's what he sent me.
Interesting, mine is CA84 and I am in bay area. An alternate route that skips Kansas City?

Thanks for sharing. Did That number from your window sticker help determine this? I think mine is CU84. Are we the same?
I’m so annoyed that my car has been sitting in Muncie KS since at least 11/29 with no movement since. FC couldn’t really give me any other details tonight other than it’s still there. They still show an ETA to Miami FL of 12/20-26. How long can I expect it to sit in Muncie?

ok i asked for an update and although there is no new status or delivery estimate, the train i'm on is actually underway. today it went from just outside albuquerque to winslow, az in ~12 hours and was in winslow at 3PM today.

looking at amtrak, winslow to richmond is approximately a 24h trip. probably freight trains don't stop as much as passenger trains, but with the weather and everything i can see how it might take a few days to get to richmond.

and then there's the question of how long the car sits at richmond. like argentine, i've heard that cars do end up sitting there for weeks. i should save these posts but i think i saw one here from earlier in the year that ford was letting dealers go to richmond to retrieve cars themselves, but have since disallowed this.
That's great news for you. Seemed like your car was underway given the way your last update read. That makes me even more sure that mine has gone nowhere since being moved to the other ramp in Argentine.

You seem like a slam dunk to get yours before the end of the year, which is great. This whole process has me so frustrated that I may bail on the car if I cannot take possession by the end of the year. Back when ordering in August I figured there was no chance for a 2022 delivery. But then I saw where it was completely possible given the fact that my car was supposed to be in the first 500 built and because of my ETA, which still has not changed. So, it transformed into an expectation that I would get it this year, especially since so many others IN MY STATE have, are or will get them this year. Therefore, if Ford manages to bungle this up so badly, then I may just forgo taking delivery.

Time will tell...

Oregon here as well. I just spoke with Ford chat and I'm also on Jack Cooper convoy. I thought I would be rail too.

Hopefully this means we get our cars sooner!
Hopping over from the 11/14 build week. Mine just went through this same process, it arrives at Richards Gebaur and then needs to be trucked to the Argentine rail yard, where it will get loaded on another train to make the next leg of the trip.

That's not what I wanted to hear, but I appreciate the update!

well, i don't know if it is a slam dunk, maybe a shaq free-throw. supposedly cars rot in richmond as well so that could be in my future. i still haven't seen a 2023 MME shipped out of richmond.

that was my expectation as well - that 2022 was out of the question. at the time i ordered, especially after reading all the threads here about 2022 orders, i figured that i wouldn't see the car until march.

there's really no joy in this; it's clear that the process is capricious and unfair, especially to all those people with converted 2022 orders. for a while i was thinking that ford must have prioritized the more expensive models but even that doesn't seem to be true. overall this might be a new situation for ford - have they ever had models like the electric F150 and the MME that have so much demand? ford has probably never had to care about what order cars were delivered in, etc. since their customer is the dealer, and dealers don't necessarily care and obsess like individuals do. you put the lingering supply chain and transportation issues on top of that and it's a ball of hurt.

Not to add to the rail/convoy confusion, but I asked FC for an update today. Though my window sticker says RA42 and Rail, FC now says it's in transit via convoy (Jack Cooper Transport) #1362846284.

Is there any way of tracking it through Jack Cooper?

Maybe Ford is trying to rush us Christmas presents to be delivered before New Years Eve that wouldn't have come in time by rail???

As @astrorob indicated, it will move from Richards-Gabaur to the next train line via Jack Cooper Transport. My car’s transport status was:

  • Shipped from Mexico vis KCS 11/13
  • Arrived Richard’s-Gabaur KC 11/21
  • Jack Cooper transport to NS rail in northern KC
  • NS rail to Shelbyville, Ky arrived 12/1

Still waiting on delivery, it will be trucked from there to my dealer 20 miles away, ETA 12/24. Hopefully a Christmas present!

So frustrating! I don’t understand the system at all, but I think someone suggested on the forum that perhaps they actually are moving along, but there’s no update or change until it reaches the next point.
I would talk to the dealer to see if they can give you screen shots from VinView, and possibly more info than the chat.
I’m actually surprised there’s even a chance of the cars arriving in December since it was originally projected at 18-24 weeks, which would have been end of January. Still hoping for the chance at the rebate.

delivery estimate Dec 19-25, (GT coming to Indiana) which is cutting it extremely close. Anyone know exactly what the tax credit is for 2023 MME purchased in 2022? All the research I did doesn’t say anything about 2023 MME? And also unclear if the adjusted gross income restrictions apply now or on Jan 1 2023.

I’m thinking about bailing, too. It’s tough, I like the car a lot, but I feel like they need to get their act together.

I am also CU84 and my dealer tells me the vehicle is still in MEXICO! My Ford account has estimated delivery 12/19-12/26 but the dealer says 1/25/23.

Welp. Looks like it's only info from Ford going forward.

Not to discourage, but this happened to me too, and it’s just jack cooper moving your car to another rail. Mine was moved and then has been at the new rail since nov 23

Jim Farley talks a lot about catching up with Tesla and increasing manufacturing capability. Unfortunately, increasing volume doesn't mean much if you can't deliver them in an efficient manner. My car for example was shipped on 11/14 and arrived in Missouri on 11/26 only to sit there ever since. My ETA has shifted from 12/11 to 1/18/23 meaning it will have taken 7-1/2 weeks to travel the last 900 miles or so. This also effectively means the price will go up by as much as additional $7500 due to the loss of the tax rebate. Given I'm now thinking about not accepting this car, it makes me wonder how many other protentional MME decide to skip on the car and buy something else.
