You guys are relatively quiet, the 11/7 build week has 100 pages of comments (vs 31)

A lot of the 10/31 got bumped to the 11/7. Mine never said that but it was not finished until around 11/9, 11/12 officially, shipped 11/16 and delivered to dealer 12/05. We picked up 12/09 and finally got the Crossclimates on so we can drive it in the winter!

This looks so awesome! Makes me excited for our white GTPE with the Nite Pony package.

Congrats!

Haha I always think about posting, but seems like a lot of the same thoughts and comments I would say come from others. Car was stuck in production for 3+ weeks so I had no info for weeks and now it’s on a train somewhere. As of 12/4 it was in Laredo from FC. Still showing delivery by end of December. I’m just waiting for the bump to 2023 like everyone else or the out of nowhere early delivery I’m seeing recently. Total mystery game.

Looks good! What size did you go with?

I’m considering those (I have them on my wife’s SUV), or the Pilot Sport A/S

Too sad to post...I'm a MY22 conversion who ordered on Jan. 22, 2022. Was scheduled for week of 10/31 and was 151/1419 in Batch 9217.

Had modules and tear tag on 11/8 but didn't receive Built status from Ford until 11/21. VinView showed I was moving from the factory on 11/25. By 11/29, I was in Tampico, MX on a route nobody had seen before.

There I've sat for the past 2 weeks. Still showing an ETA of 12/20, but that seems difficult to believe at this point. There are several us with cars coming to California that seem to be sitting in the middle of nowhere in Mexico. I'm just praying there is some sort of direct route from there to Richmond, CA and not more waiting in KC...

My dealer sent me an email this morning to let me know my vehicle is now in Port of Hueneme, CA. This is between LA and Santa Barbara.

This is according to a VinView update he received. Interestingly, the map has not updated, so we will probably never know how it got there from Mexico. Maybe it really did travel by ship in a sealed container from Lazaro Cardenas, MH?

My guess is cars will now go by truck to either Northern or Southern CA.

Very interesting and definitely a big advantage to skip the KC fiasco. And yet another way for cars to beat mine to Walnut Creek.

ford tracking is completely useless. Ford says car is stuck in Missouri and wont make it to me until mid-Jan. My dealer says its already in Atlanta and just awaiting a convoy driver for last mile delivery to the dealer.

In the meantime, I took the hold off of my Model Y order and need to decided what to do in the next couple of days.

Hi! Those are Michelin Crossclimate 2 245/45/20’s which are just the same size as the Pirelli Summer tires. I have the Pilot Sport AS 4 on my Tesla, they do cost some efficiency and range… but they are amazing! It was like a whole new car going from Pilot Sport AS 3 or 3+ or whatever to the 4’s.

We love the Mach-E, the Model Y is a little firmer, and smaller and a little more nimble, but the Mach-e is so balanced and just feels more powerful and roomier.

re: avatar, did you decide to get a Rivian? is the R1S actually available?
Haha, nice catch. Well, I do have a reservation, but unfortunately, I don't think I would see a vehicle until 2024 or later.

I have done a lot of thinking and recalibrating the last week or so since it became quite clear to me that likely my MME will not arrive before the end of the year. I cannot stomach the thought of purchasing this vehicle and missing the tax credit by days or maybe a week, especially knowing that my car could and should have been delivered in a timely manner. You have visibility on the cars at Richmond, so you know how many are going to start rolling into the dealership in the next two weeks. My car was #472. I know some of those arriving cars are converted orders, but I'm guessing that most of those cars were after #472. It gets to a point where it is just not acceptable to me.

Then the damage is just icing on the cake. It may turn out to be nothing significant, but it's just one more thing that I have to stomach about this process. The GM, who I'm sure you'll agree has been helpful, said to me in an email that some people will continue with their orders beyond the new year, but that they will be disappointed. Well, I'm sorry, this car is going to cost well over $80k when it's all said and done, and I don't make it a habit to spend that kind of money disappointedly.

So, all of this has had me contemplating whether this is the right BEV for me. It was to be my daily driver but, in addition to my wife's car, we also maintain a third vehicle, a Toyota Sequoia 4x4. We keep it around for those times when we need the cargo space, or for our CA excursions, where we want to haul equipment in snow, an off-road route, etc. But, that vehicle is a 2011, so although it is a typically reliable Toyota, it is going to get more and more costly to maintain it. Plus, we are paying for insurance on a vehicle that doesn't get a ton of miles, etc.

Therefore, my placing a reservation on the Rivian. A choice like that would make more sense, in that it would be both my daily driver and meet our needs for a capable large SUV. One vehicle would take the place of two and simplification is always a good thing. Plus, if you are willing to pay the money, the performance capabilities of the R1S are quite impressive. It's no sports car, but I think it would be a blast to drive.

Like I said earlier, it's nothing that's going to happen anytime soon because of the demand and their still limited production capabilities. But if I'm not going to get a tax credit with the MME, then time is on my side and I don't need to jump into something that doesn't make a ton of sense. In the meantime, I will wait out the next two weeks and see what happens, but I will do so much more ambivalently than I was two weeks ago.
