I wonder if Ford got smart and made the new sync updates unavailable to EA so they can use EA as intended: to test the OTA roll out?

Question: Does FDRS have a way to enable the Mirror Tilt (dip/down) (In reverse) feature? And if so, does anyone have a link to a how-to? Or is that only feasible via FORcan?

FORScan only. ??

Not worth the effort in FORSCAN if you ask me. And FDRS cannot enable this.

Saving profile #3 with the mirrors in the curb checking position is probably the fastest way to achieve this. Just before you put it in reverse, select profile 3 and the mirrors tilt down to avoid curb rash.

I'm sure others will share their tips on this using FORSCAN.

So... never had issue with FDRS before. Had PCM and 3 SOBDM updates. One of the SOBDM fails every time I try to update it so it's lingering on the update list. Has anyone run into this before?

Hmm, those sly bastards... ?

I'm happy to do things the OTA way if they want, but they gotta send them out at the same time as FDRS, otherwise it's not "Early Access". EA should not be a holdback program, otherwise a bunch of us will want to leave.

Try accessory mode if you didn't (green light blinking).

It's gone now....

Hit the "Rerun Network Test" button at least once and maybe twice after you do an update if the same update continues to appear. Sometimes the completion doesn't properly register with the cloud or there's a slight delay in the FDRS reporting that causes an update to seem to stick around. I've seen this before when internet connectivity is not great.

I posted this in another thread but since this one is more active, posting here in case anyone has any input:

How do OTA updates not suffer from 12V power drop that requires a power supply when using FDRS? Does it divert power from the main drive battery or what? And if so, why can't FDRS just do the same?

OTA updates use a totally different process. They don't have to force updates through a slow OBDII interface.

And a lot of the download and file pre-positioning for update is done while the car is running. This is one of the reasons people find that the more they drive their car, the more likely they'll get an OTA.

Most OTAs only take about 5 minutes to install because the internal networks are much faster, and most of the other unnecessary modules are shut down. As a result of the speed and better sleep states, much less energy is required from the battery.

Using profile #3 is inconvenient when you have two drivers using the vehicle, with drastically different memory settings. It's very easy to enable this in Forscan. Heck, you'll spend more time waiting for a temporary license, than you will doing the actual modification.
