I think we already know that the Mach E does not meet the 270/300 range figures.

What I expect is for Ford to do what Tesla does and use the "adjustment factor" to make up for the difference.

"the EPA allows automakers the option to run three additional drive cycles and use those results to earn a more favorable adjustment factor. Currently, only Tesla and Audi employ this strategy for their EVs"

Adjustment Factor to Boost the EPA numbers
Here in the UK our mach-e batteries apparently give us 379miles on the extended range or 273 on standard range.

I think that's still just "targeted WLTP" rather than official, just like the 300/230 (RWD) EPA numbers.

Also note that we have an interesting game 110 yards, 3downs, lots of movement. We also used to have a larger football.
Don't forget the wider field. Back on topic breathe everyone. Lets just ride the wave and see where its headed

I do wish they had chosen just a little higher gear ratio to shift a little more efficiency to high speeds. I know that would have hurt 0-60 acceleration a bit, but personally there's way more there than I'll ever use.

I'm not sure if it would really work this way, but if (for instance) shifting 0-60 from 5 seconds to 6 bought 30 more miles of range at 75 MPH, I'd gladly make that trade.

I am really hoping that the drive modes could do exactly this. I am assuming that it is probably part of the plan.

I'm not sure how much room there will be, but if there is room you could go with a taller tire. That will give you taller overall gearing. It will definitely add a couple of tenths to your 0-60 time; how much range you'll gain at 70 mph I don't know. I have not seen any tests for range with taller tires. I've thought the same thing, going from 28" tires to 29".

I saw a video where a guy put Model 3 wheels on a Y, about 1.7" shorter tires. It easily took .3 off of his 0-60. He thought it was the lower weight of the wheel, but I doubt that had much of an impact, the lower gearing should account for most of that. I put forged wheels on my Y and dropped 25 pounds a wheel. I saw maybe a .05 improvement in 0-60.

That might help your day to day range by limiting how aggressive you can get with the throttle, but no more than self discipline would help. (Admittedly that would require more self discipline than I have...) Cruising on the freeway the car should be optimizing efficiency regardless of drive mode.

Unfortunately they don't. The gear ratios are fixed on each axle differential.

I was disappointed that they didn't put a much higher gear ratio on one motor for high speed cruising. Buy they're almost the same. 9.05 and 10.0, IIRC.

Unfortunately day to day range rarely matters (near home). And I've read highway cruising (high speed) isnt very optimized because without a transmission, the motor revs higher than its most optimal range.
