How do I tell a '23 from a '22 on the street?

California has weird seasons. We have Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter. You guys seem to have Drought, Flood, Mudslide, Wildfire, and Earthquake. ?‍♂
Naah, drought isn’t a season. It’s a state of being. ??

This is an adequate recommendation, but it doesn’t work when you are driving in the Coastal Range where cellular data and telephony is spotty at best. We don’t have localized satellite radio stations, so if you don’t have AM radio access in a hazard situation like a winter storm or during fire season (often 3/4 of the year in CA), removal of AM radio access could pose a life safety challenge and a liability issue for Ford.
Ok, I agree the liability issues is a bit of a stretch...I'm sure there would be a lawsuit if adequate warnings were not received by a driver when the internet is down but I am doubtful that a Court would hold Ford responsible. [although I'm not an attorney so this isn't legal advice ;) ]

At least one member of the U.S. Senate has started to push back agains the removal of AM radios, with the support of a former head of FEMA (remember the Emergency Broadcasting Service has relied on AM and FM radios, but AM has a far greater transmission distance.):

I mean during 3 of our seasons (Flood, Wildfire, Earthquake) the electrical system can go down rendering Internet access unobtainable. :)

Does the 2023 still have the acoustic glass?
My August 22 build has fingers in the cup holders btw.
I took delivery of a 23 GT last week. The windshield says “SoundScreen.” I believe that is the acoustic glass?

Yeah, a big stretch. The difference between "a good safety idea in certain circumstances" and "mandated safety equipment" is a bright line with specified standards. It's not Ford's responsibility to include a snow shovel, or a full size spare, or an extra gallon of water when you're in the desert. I appreciate your enthusiasm for AM radio, but plenty of interesting tech is removed by time, like lighthouses. I like lighthouses, and they work when you don't have power on your boat, but federal funding for them has vanished. There was also that really long wave triangulation system that would give you basic nav capabilities anywhere on the globe, build during the 50's for our long range bomber fleet, mostly gone. They've mothballed one of the stations near where I live, but it's only mothballed.

Wise words about the never ending march of technology, with new innovations displacing earlier leaps of ingenuity. I believe you're talking about the LORAN system, something I remember reading about it during my teenage military historian phase. I had forgotten about that system, supplanted by GPS just as ship-based radar & now GPS eliminated the need for lighthouses. Heck, when I was a child there were foghorns all along the San Francisco Bay and now there are only a few left at the Golden Gate Bridge.
Progress marches on.

They all have that. It's the side windows that came with acoustic glass on the earlier builds.
Ok, here comes the dumb question... What is acoustic glass? I mean what does it do? Is supposed to help with outside noise, make the interior quieter?

It‘s two panes of glass laminated together. It’s supposed to make the interior quieter, but people have reported the difference being imperceptible or negligible.

I believe there is another material between the laminates? Acrylic or something?

Cool. That works if it's parked, which is mostly when we're peering at them.
If it is an infinity blue or Carbonized gray (light gray) they will be a 21, these color options were discontinued.
