I’m confused, why are you sad? Get it all purchased before 2023 and you are good.
The concern is that only MY2022s are on the qualified list. MY2023 are listed for some other vehicles, but for the Mach E 2023s are not there. The only 2023 listed from Ford is the E Transit. Might not matter as some others have pointed out.

Yes, since I was looking at half or no credit when I placed the conversion order....

Agree - I did get VERY LUCKY with my incoming Premium order as squeaking in under the max by $25 was just astounding good luck.

I'd better go play Lotto today!:D
Don't!. If you don't win, that's wastd money. If you do, you would overshoot $150K income threshold.

But before the IRA bill’s incentive there was not going to be EV credits for Ford at all after 200k BEVs sold.
Incorrect. It isn’t a cliff cutoff, it is a phase out. Had the IRA not passed, there still would be a credit when they hit 200K vehicles. Which they did in Q3 of this year. And that full credit would‘ve continued this quarter. Come January 1st, the credit would merely have been cut in half to $3750 for the next two quarters, the. cut in half again for Q3 and Q4, and then gone on January 1st, 2024.

I am super sad, my GTPE just came in tonight. I am supposed to go finalize it tomorrow morning... This week it's been so back and forth whether it would arrive in time, if it would qualify, etc. If what you're seeing is true then I don't think I can go through with it...
If you but the car today (Saturday, December 31st), you will get the tax credit for this year. No ifs and buts about it.

Is our reservation order considered a "written binding contract"?

Purchase date vs. delivery date

If you entered a written binding contract to buy a vehicle before August 16, 2022, but took possession on or after August 16, 2022, and before January 1, 2023, you may claim the credit based on the prior rules and disregard the assembly requirement.
The binding contract only matters to cars lost credit on 8/16/2022 (e.g. KIA EV6).
MME is good until 12/31/2022, regardless model year, you don't need a binding contract, just take delivery by today!

Read the tax code itself. And the IRA that amends the tax code. All amendments apply after 12/31/22 except for the manufacturing requirement. The model year is inconsequential and that list is incomplete. Basically, if it’s an EV with a big enough battery and the manufacturer credits haven’t phased out (they haven’t), and it’s built in NA, you qualify.

It’s pretty clear by reading of the code that MY23 MMEs delivered in 2022 do indeed qualify for the $7500.

Well damn, there goes my hope for the Blazer EV SS being considered an SUV.
The blazer isn’t on the list just yet. I’d expect it to pop up in the near future. Does it share body design with the Lyriq? Real question as I quite literally haven’t paid one iota of attention to the new Blazer.

Looking back at post 40. I think anyone like me who ordered different paint can argue its not equipment. Nor are my floor mats attached to the car. Guess we will find out

I just went through the whole thing last night and until the guidance was issued on 12/29 that specified MSRP was going into effect 12/31 there was no date provided for the MSRP (or the battery materials) requirements. Those were subject to secretary of Treasury guidance.

You have to pick it up TODAY, 12/31/22, to get the tax credit. TODAY.

You can't argue anything. MSRP, including all factory installed options (paint), less destination fee and less dealer installed options.

In Sept, ordered a 2023 Cyber Orange Premium AWD Standard battery, just under 60K MSRP. I can afford it without the incentive, but I am going to let it go. I was holding out hope the Gov would work this out...instead, they are micro-managing, this car, that car incentives. So the select version qualifies, but the premium does not, how does that make sense?

If this segment of the IRA was to encourage consumers to go green, the poor implementation is going to have the opposite affect. I considered rolling my order back to Select, losing all of the features I really want, but I think I would regret it every time I put my butt in the seat.

I am kicking myself now, I just canceled a 2023 Maverick order...

I have been checking out the 23 Bronco Heritage...I hear orders may open in Feb, 2023. I would even consider an Ioniq 5 SEL AWD, if I could find one at MSRP. Now Hyundai can offer a great EV at less cost to consumer than Ford.

Maybe I will just wait this out. Rising Interest rates and falling stock prices are slowing the US economy. F150s are stacking up at dealerships and are getting deep discounts. My local dealer is showing 388 in inventory, a couple months ago, it was < 100.

If it is on the window sticker it goes into the final msrp, there is literally no argument to be made, period! The only thing excluded from the windo sticker is the freight, that is not considered part of the msrp for this tax credit.
