LOL, seriously ROFL. You're right, there is no dispute amongst Engineers and Pro drivers. FWD is cheaper to build, RWD has better traction and driving dynamics. It's funny how you get something in your head and can't look at real world facts that dispute your view. OK, your statement "Physics terms": please explain with physics how FWD has better driving dynamics or traction than RWD. We're talking about EVs here, so you have to explain this independently of weight over the drive wheels, since EVs are always going to have either their weight over the drive wheels or a 50%-50% weight distribution, regardless of FWD or RWD. I am so looking forward to your use and explanation of "physics terms."

Interesting post. You're from Portland, Oregon right? See, this is an interesting post because virtually everyone from Portland ALWAYS says and writes "Vancouver, BC.", and not just "Vancouver." Why? Well gee, since you're from Portland you know that Vancouver WA is right across the river... You know the one, Portland's sister city and biggest suburb. Of course, High school kids don't learn this habit because they just don't deal with things beyond their neighborhood. But once you're 19 or so, you learn to say "Vancouver, B.C.", because, to everyone in Portland, "Vancouver" means Vancouver WA. That would be just like someone from Portland OR calling Portland, Maine "Portland." It would never happen. They would always say: "Portland, Maine."

BTW, you never mentioned why you didn't go look at the Mach-e when it was at the Portland Auto Show. Why was that you didn't go?

BTW again, if you had actually spent more than a minute or two "trying to buy one from Vancouver", you'd know that there's a lot more than just paperwork that would make this task difficult. Reading your other posts it's pretty obvious you didn't know that US Konas weren't equipped with heat pumps until @engnrng informed you.

What is it we call someone who says a lot of things that they know aren't true? And when they do that on a forum, what are they then? Let's see, is it Ogre? No, wait, is it gnome? No that's not it. It's right on the tip of my tongue...

No, you didn't. You need to work on your reading comprehension.

Nope, I posted fact. I even posted a simple physics experiment you could conduct yourself that would very quickly prove my point. I also invited you to give your "physics terms", I note you failed to even try. Damn, I was looking so forward to a good laugh.

Seriously, do you not even begin to understand how that's about ICE vehicles, not EVs? I really tried to explain to you about weight over the drive wheels. You still don't get how that's different with an EV? Seriously???? Here's a big hint from the passage you quoted above: " because the weight of the engine and transmission are over the front wheels." First off, the word "transmission" should be a REALLY big clue. Second, are you really so dense that you haven't figured out that the weight of the "engine" (motor) with an EV is over the wheels regardless of FWD or RWD? I mean, there isn't a polite way to put this. I wish there was, but there isn't. If you can read your own quote and not figure out how that doesn't apply to an EV... I really, really hope that you have help in getting through life.

Why do you keep posting information that anyone with the IQ of a rock would have already figured out pertained to ICE vehicles and not EVs? Why don't you try the experiment I suggested? Why did you claim that you tried to buy a Kona in Canada when you clearly didn't? Why do you claim to be interested in the Mach-e, when you couldn't even be bothered to go look at one at the auto show in the city you claim to live in? Why do you claim to own a Model 3 when your posting history proves you have zero experience driving one? Why do you claim to live in a city when you're completely ignorant it's localisms? The obvious answers to all of those questions are not complimentary to you at all.

3rd party chime-in time!

Universal constant:
Tires > Drive type

In low traction situations:
AWD>FWD>RWD (front-engined cars)

In calm, dry pavement situations:
RWD>FWD>AWD (for complexity, wear, and gas mileage)

For cost savings:
FWD>RWD>AWD (cheaper car, cheaper parts)

In drag racing:
AWD>RWD>FWD (except when cost, weight, and drivetrain strength make RWD>AWD)

When looking for predictable handling mechanics, like tendency to oversteer:
RWD>AWD>FWD (like drifting or racing)

When trying to stop in low traction:
FWD=RWD=AWD

...what's this thread about, again?
