The expected congestion that will plague road trip charging stations is something that I am worried about in coming years.

I agree I do not think that most of the US have enough charging infrastructure to handle that kind of growth. The state plans approved last year will be a considerable improvement, but each state is moving at a different deployment rate, so it will be a challenge for at least 5 years, if not more. Since most charging happens at home with L2 it will still meet most people's needs for day-to-day but I see people hanging on to older ICE cars longer than predicted.

I already have certain states marked as "no-visit" for road trips because they have crap charging infrastructure and their legislature seems intent on keeping it that way: Wyoming, Montana, the Dakotas, among others. It's really too bad too because I love Glacier, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, and other National Parks and Monuments in those states.

I know I'm only one person, but their insistence on planning for the past while keeping the charging infrastructure purposefully inadequate means I'll spend my tourism and other dollars in states where I can drive.

I wouldn't put too much faith into crazy Cathie fantasies. Reality is usually the opposite of what she claims. Her reports always read like they were written by teens and not 67 yo woman.
