My android (Galaxy S10) phone will not stay connected to my 2022 Mach-e. It has gotten worse over time. Disconnects every few minutes. After reading other forums, I've tried the following:

-Logging out of Fordpass. No change.
-Using Android Auto vs Bluetooth connection. No change.
-Using Android Auto via USB cable. No change.
-Turning off wifi to prevent the phone from trying to find/join networks. No change.

What other troubleshooting is there? My mustang was produced in Sept 2022. Vin 3FMTK3SU6NMA56940.

Additionally:

I have installed the newest Android update. No change. Also deleted my mustang Mach-e profile on the car. No change.

How does BT failing to connect, or maintain a connection, affect safety?

Other than taking it in to a dealer I don't see what else can be done. The real solution would be for Ford to fix their shit but that's not likely to happen.

The USB connection problem is pretty common for me, it's unreliable.

I'd say take it in, as hit and miss as mine has been, once it connects wirelessly it usually stays connected.

As for the safety issue do you mean it's just distracting while driving?

Using Android Auto via USB cable. No change.
Can you test it in another car that supports wired Android Auto? (and maybe even with a different cable in both cars)

Even if it's the same model, it's probably worth trying to see if it disconnects the same way. That will help eliminate your specific phone as the potential issue.
Will try that, thank you.

I think you're right. I noticed an increase in disconnecting in the last month. Wondering if it has to do with Samsung and/or Ford OTA updates.

As for safety, the disconnection happens often when I'm on the phone. I either hang up and call back after re-connecting over and over again, grabbing for my phone and putting it on speaker, or trying to reconnect as quickly as possible to keep the call going (all of which distracts from driving and increases risk).

Sounds like an Uber driver's worst nightmare...

Ford has issues, but especially with Android, getting a different phone somehow fixes Fords problems in a lot of cases.
