Free charging isn't the problem. UNLIMITED free charging is the problem. Car companies need to give out a certain number of charging KWH (like the 250 I received with my Mach-E), so at least people will use them a little more carefully.Damn. Now get rid of free charging.
Even the ID.4 free 30 minute charging is a problem. All they do is charge for 29 minutes, unplug, re-plug back in for another 29 minutes and repeat....until they reach 100%.Free charging isn't the problem. UNLIMITED free charging is the problem. How is free charging the problem? Isn't EA just charging the manufacturer for the costs, probably at a slightly reduced amount, but they're still paying for it, no?Free charging isn't the problem. I guess you've been out in the real world instead of here. The problem is that locals tie up the limited EA chargers to go up to 100% because it's free and don't care how long it takes because they're doing errands or whatever they were going to do anyway. Then folks on a road trip have to wait an hour for the 1 working charger to become available. How is free charging the problem? Oh, sorry, this thread is about the increase in costs of charging and everyone is saying to now get rid of free charging. I was thinking it was tied to the increase of costs. I am very much aware of how they hog chargers, circumvent limits, etc.I guess you've been out in the real world instead of here. The problem is it's free to the CUSTOMER, so they only use the DC chargers all the time (even when they should charge at home or work on L2 chargers). And to make it worse, since they aren't road-tripping, they just leave it plugged in until it reaches 100%. It causes unnecessary congestion at DC chargers. How is free charging the problem? That is unlimited charging. If they were smart, it would be 30 minutes per day, so they can't just plug right back in.Even the ID.4 free 30 minute charging is a problem. All they do is charge for 29 minutes, unplug, re-plug back in for another 29 minutes and repeat....until they reach 100%.
