It's starting to feel that way. I assume once adoption rockets, so will prices.

BTW, I’d gladly trade my Mach E for that Drako. The guy talking about why everyone should place their charge port in the back is the founder. It’s only worth $1M.

For what it is worth...I submitted a request to Plugshare asking how they would update their charger icons. Their reply:

Hello,

Thank you for contacting PlugShare Support.

We understand you have a question regarding map icons and finding "Magic Dock" Supercharger locations. We know how important this would be and apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you.

Currently, the team is reviewing changes, if any are needed when it comes to map and filter function for the new addition of CCS plug types for Supercharger locations. This will take some time to come up with a final word and ask for your patience on this.

For now, users can use an option by turning on the CCS/SAE plug type as well as having Supercharger applied within the "Networks" filter. This will help you find locations such as the example from the link provided below:

https://www.plugshare.com/location/478942

Please be on the lookout for updates on this from us. If you have any other questions, please let us know and we'll be happy to assist you. We hope this clarifies things and that you have a great day!

Regards,
PlugShare Support Team
Disclaimer: I did not complain that I was caused any inconvenience. :)

They're already in Plugshare. I checked this morning. Just filter for CCS plug, and Tesla network. All 10 show up.

Only bad thing is "Tesla Drivers Only" still shows up on the station description. They'll have to get rid of that for these.

I wonder if Tesla would ever allow selling (or 3rd party) adapters to CCS drivers?

While I love that they are refitting many of their stations, it's going to take some time and likely not going to cover 100% of existing chargers.

Just like Tesla people have an adapter to use CCS DCFC places, if such a thing were available, it would absolutely be worth it, at least for us, to get one. We run into tons of SC stations and most are nearly always empty when we go by them.

In contrast, there is only one 150KW+ DCFC station in the entire state and it's EA, often full (just 6 stations for the entire state) and you always have to check multiple stalls out before one eventually piddles 60KW (maybe) into the MacheE. In contrast, there are at least a dozen SC stations with anywhere from 6 to 12 chargers per station along our route in the state.

I expect there would be some complications in that Tesla would have to put disclaimers that you have to have your own adapter at non-Magic-Dock stations, but the genie is out of the bottle, the tech is there in the app and I would happily pay a bit to allow me to charge at any Tesla SC stations

I would be fine even if it only worked if you bought a tesla sanctioned unit. Another way for them to make some extra $$, in addition to charge fees.

I doubt it will work on a straight pull-in (blocking the wrong spot, no less). Just eyeballing it, it looks like the stand SC cables are maybe 6 feet long? I just measured my car and accounting for a 90 degree cable bend at the port, it's about 5' to the front bumper. That only leaves maybe 12" distance between the charger and the bumper. If it does reach, the car would have to be practically touching the bollard with the cable stretched tight. Probably not possible, and certainly not advisable.

Since we'd have to use the "wrong" spot anyway (thus blocking 2 chargers), more practical is just a sideways park. Left end being the obvious 1st choice.

(That is a retrofit. I found the station on Plushare and it was there with the normal handle docks last year.)
Sounds like an extension adaptor would be a good investment for some entrepreneur….

That can work for 6 kW L2 charging, but not 250 kW DCFC. Those cables have special liquid cooling to keep them from getting dangerously hot at such high power. Without liquid cooling, a 4 foot extension (for example) would have to be so thick and stiff (with bulky connectors on both ends) that it would be impractical to carry.

Does that mean you are switching to the MME? If so doesn’t thst still prove the point.? Honestly (and off topic) before I read this thread I was thinking most EV owners were forward thinking science-minded folks but now I’m not sure of that.

You would be the vast exception to what I see in the Seattle area and I see probably 50 Teslas a day and am neighbors and friends with many owners. Honestly, I find most EV drivers to be more considerate so am not really afraid of any of them. Diplomacy goes better than threats in most cases. I just would view most EV drivers as a make love not war type. (I just had to say it).
That's what I've found with Tesla drivers, almost all very friendly and very interested in always taking about all EV's, not just Tesla. I joined a local Tesla meetup group and have met some fantastic people, many of which have been on the EV journey since day 1. Their stories of driving cross country with extension cords and adapters is fascinating. As is the small little group I joined that makes a game of how many unique supercharges have you charged at, often planning meetups around "charger collections". Several people have been to EVERY charger in the U.S. Personally, I only got to 107 chargers. That aside....

I bought the Tesla for the efficiency and outstanding charging network, but knowing the build quality & styling could end up being the reason I end up getting rid of it. 29k miles in, the lack of build quality is becoming more evident, and having learned a lot more about living with an EV, I'm far more comfortable with getting the car I wanted to begin with.

I was trying to make a ridiculous generalization about Tesla owners and was not serious about the physical stereotype I made up. I guess I wasn't ridiculous enough.

Sometimes people's dogs look like them and you can stereotype people based on their dogs. But a stereotype doesn't take into account the individual and every individual is unique.

I don't agree that BEV drivers are more considerate at all. 50% of the chargers in my office building yesterday (and every day I am in the office) were not charging and therefore occupied by inconsiderate a-holes. Just using that data, 50% of BEV drivers are inconsiderate a-holes. That stereotype fits better from my experience.
Honestly, I'd say over 50% of people in this area can be inconsiderate A-holes and rather than EV or not EV it's mostly tied to entitlement (I work with the public in Issaquah, some awesome clients, some really not awesome clients). Whether entitlement is tied to EV-ownership I'd suspect depends on the budget of said EV buyer. I got your sarcasm and agree with you totally and am a little split on EV owners. Out here most of the Tesla owners I know are introvert techies, some decent people some people I'd not care to be friends with but who aren't necessarily A-holes. I know a few EV6 owners who I've become personal friends with and really like, likewise a few Bolt owners as well.

If the cable isn't long enough for the above, then this is the alternative:

Mach-E Supercharging.webp

You'd need three empty spots in a row minimum and a rendition of Yakety Sax to before you can get into position. And no, I wouldn't pull forward more into two spots because if another Tesla pulls in on the left then you're going to be stuck.
Well somebody did it, 3 spots and all:

Since the far right spot doesn't appear to have a charger, looks like they're really just blocking 2 chargers (although 3 parking spots). At night, I doubt if anyone else was there to care though.
