The negativity on this site has been bugging me for a while. Having issues with and looking for help solving those issues with a vehicle is totally understandable and fine with me; I just feel there's been a lot of extra-negative and somewhat nasty posting lately.
In an effort to lighten up the conversation, I'm asking the question in the subject of this post: What do you love about your Mustang?

Here are a few of the many things I love about my Mustang, in order of them occurring to me while I'm writing this:

  • The styling;
  • The color! I love the Grabber Blue;
  • The comfortable ride -- I don't buy luxury vehicles, so this is the most comfortable ride I've ever owned;
  • The range (320 to 350-ish miles 100% to 0% in my CR-1);
  • The ease of driving--I have far less exhaustion on long road trips than any other vehicle I've owned;
  • The acceleration;
  • The ability to add fuel to the vehicle while I'm at work and it's just sitting there;
  • The bump of 10-20% in charge overnight while sleeping;
  • The long, long, long time between visits to the gas station (less than one visit per month with my Tacoma);
  • On long road trips, I find myself not only stressing less, but I also stopping and walking around a lot more, which helps me feel physically better;
  • The cool factor;
  • The conversations we have with all kinds of new people;
  • The fun factor;
  • The data nerd in me loves the opportunity to do so much data collection--yes, yes, I could do the same with my Tacoma, but it's not the same;
  • The lower total cost of ownership I'm seeing with this vs a similar-capability ICE;

If you feel the urge to crap all over this thread, please just don't. There's plenty of space to post in the hate thread instead. I can't stop you from posting here, obviously, but we'll all judge you and your negativity if you post your hate here.

I am a new owner just got my MME last month.

So far I LOVE my car

Most specifically the amazing handling and acceleration

Driving uphill on the freeway ❤ is fabulous

Sound system is great LOVE the way you can add multiple pre-sets

Comfortable seats although I would prefer the adjustable headrest which I don't have on my Select.

Pretty easy so far to find things in Owners Manual... and this Forum is an excellent resource

It has an instrument panel!!
It is not ugly. It’s actually very nice looking. There is no law saying that an EV has to look like a reject from RoboCop (although some competitors seem to think there is).
It’s comfortable.
It has at least some physical controls (buttons, knobs, levers).
It has a frunk for me to chill in.
It’s quick.
It handles OK.
The ADAS works pretty well, even without BC.
It has a metal roof!
Big front brakes.
Neat clicking and glugging noises when it’s just sitting there.
Tires smell pretty good after I lift my leg on them. ??

I would have selected the metal roof if it were an option for the CR-1, but after a year with the panoramic glass roof, I'm okay with it and my partner loves it.

Thank you for posting this! We don't buy luxury cars either. I sold my Pathfinder when I placed the order last fall, and have been driving our 2003 Honda Odyssey. My MME Premium will be a MASSIVE upgrade. A 2003 Odyssey has NO bells or whistles, though when our kiddo was little, the DVD player was pretty sweet. Our teen is embarrassed that I call it my "sexy mom van" and hubby is equal parts amused and annoyed by my constant claims that "I'm going do die in this van."

My build can't happen soon enough! I ordered in Oct, and am scheduled for production the week of Apr 10.

We had a base-level Toyota Sienna around 18-20 years ago. It was a great roadtrip vehicle for a young family with a kid who was still in diapers. The Mustang is a great roadtrip vehicle for a pair of empty nesters! I also hear some people have had success with the Mustang as a road trip vehicle with kids in diapers. I can believe it.

I just purchased mine about 2 weeks ago and love it. I have had a couple "semi-luxury" cars before, I had an Acura RL and my favorite vehicle of all time, my Lincoln MKZ, this ranks right up in the top 3 for comfort and top 4 for ride quality (I think my Mazda CX-5 was a little quieter and smoother). But I am loving my MME. I echo most of the comments already made about things I love, so no point reposting them. But one thing I particularly love, which is an EV trait and not limited to the MME is the fact I never have to go to the gas station again. I just come home, plug in, and have a full charge in the morning when I want to use it.

If we could get over our camping addiction (and our physical need for a bed at hip-height rather than on the ground), we could be done with ever again having to visit a gas station. Unfortunately, the F-150 Lightning and the Rivian are still too low-range while towing for us to make it to our favorite camping spots and back home on pure electric. Someday soon...

Love is a atring strong word, too...(ftfy)

I'm a fan of the looks. It doesn't stop me in my tracks like my old 650 did (such a pretty car), but it gives me a little smile at certain angles. There also aren't that many around yet, and the Dean of Students at my kid's school thinks it's cool, so there's that. Teslas are indistinguishable, and the stealth EV bro feel of the MME is a great departure from WV norm.

This forum is great, as a community and as a resource. So much more relevant than the Tesla forums (when they were allowed), and less teenage testosterone drenched than the 650 forums were. Goldilocks, for the win!

It might not be a Mustang, but it's still a Mustang. It sure as heck was a Mustang blasting AC/DC after watching Top Gun II- just ask my 11 year old son. It has grunt, and it gives me a smile to look in my rearview a block off a fresh green to see the Accord with fake R badges still crossing the intersection.

It handles like a bus, but so do real Mustangs. I think it mostly feels skittish and bumpy because the traction control is still rough and the programming needs work. It's still sufficiently surefooted, if occasionally unnerving, you just have to think ahead and ask real nice when you want to change direction. When you drive it the right way in the right places, it's quite happy to play. And it goes like stink (for a little while, at least).

It's a good car, and it is ably serving the purpose for which I bought it. I think it's great that Ford has gotten an EV into Ford owner's hands. Owners who historically have a high percentage of tinkerers, builders, and modifiers. Those of you who are on this forum are great, and I think are part of what powers, or at least greases, the mass adoption of electric cars. It is bittersweet that that history only has a couple more generations to tinker with cars, but you'll find something else. Maybe they'll fly, finally.

I drive my car an average of 12 hours a week, or so. It's a nice place to be, with music, and maps, and seats that don't hurt. Once a week my son has a math class that involves two hours of sitting in the car, or I could drive an extra hour to sit for an hour in my office doing what I'm doing in the car, so I just sit in my car. Which I am at this moment, doing what I probably would have been doing at home.

Fair enough.

I remember that same fear from my father 40 years ago when electronic ignitions really started replacing points systems and computer chips started showing up in the junkyard cars we would resurrect. It didn't stop me tinkering. The computer here won't stop me from tinkering either. It's just a new, fun skill to learn, and maybe pass on.
