How do I get the tech to use that tool and do that?
Depending on how familiar they are with the Mach-E you may need to show them the screen shot and ask them if they know about it. And if not, tell them what it's for. They may be intrigued enough by the fact that you know something they don't that they'll knock it out for free. You can explain that this is a function that the newer cars got but that the original ones didn't, and this is Ford's way of catching them up.

The tool in the second screenshot is the one that places that Frunk oftbutton on the graphic of your car on the Sync screen. Depending on what version of Sync you have, on the old version it puts the Frunk softbutton on the Access screen, on the new Sync with the new UI it puts the Frunk softbutton on the car graphic at the top of the Drive Modes screen.

Either way they will need to run that tool after updating the BCM and GFM to complete the full glory that is the electrified Frunkness.

So for all the other items;

Some of these are updated due to customer concerns, The WACM would be updated if you iPhone (yours or somebody else's) gets hot on the charge pad but doesn't actually charge effectively. the DSP is updated if you get audio 'dropouts' from the sound system. The DSM gts updated if when you get in the car the driver's seat and mirrors don't go to the positions for the stored profile or keyfob you're carrying, but instead go to the positions for the other stored profile or associated keyfob. The HVAC is one that is paid for by Ford and is related to the possibility of your windshield fogging up under certain circumstances. The GSM would get updated to correct issues with your gearshift knob occasionally throwing an error either as an indication on the instrument cluster, or as a 'silent error code' that the service advisor and tech can see in the PTS system. The PCM and SOBDM are powertrain updates, and finally the OBCC is an update for DCC fast charging.

All of these are updates that result in a positive improvement in the functions of the car and should all be updated. It might take them an hour and a half to do them.
Thanks so much! I think the hard sale will be to get them to run “the second tool”. They could complain that they don’t have to run it and I don’t know the name of the tool, so they could just blow me off ?‍?

Hi Mike

could you please check My car VIN too.
I send you DM.
What are my observations:
1. My Mach-E status is not updating in the FordPass app. The only way to force the update is toggle on/off all the connectivity buttons on the SYNC car screen.
2. My car SYNC Software Version: 22087_PRODUCT Revision: 415 (2.6.0) is pretty old January 2022. Saw currently Ford is rolling out 4.2.4.

I spoke yesterday with support but they where not able to help me.
They told me they see update fail every month but can’t see the reason.

Thanks a lot.
Regards.
DM sent.

Well if you ask them they'll tell you that they don't update anything that Ford doesn't specifically tell them to at the time of delivery (so-called 'stop-sell'). If they haven't been told to do any updates they will give the customer the keys with updates showing as available. They're under no obligation to do them. And most customers doen't even know they have pending updates anyway.
Just picked up my car from the dealer after it being there all day. They did 13 updates over 8 hours and I appear to have the most recent power up update now.

Thanks for the help!

Can anyone see why my FPU updates are blocked at 3.6.2?
VIN 3FMTK1SS3MMA60865

Thanks!
6 Dec '21 build date, Job 2 car.

I think you'll start seeing updates right after the tech updates your PCM. You're updates may be blocked by a "PCM dependency" problem that many of us had over the holidays.

Here's the list:
