Only 100 being offered in the year 2023. More updates than just cosmetic. Shelby is putting its name on the product. So yea,, I'm serious! Watch the youtube. Lets see how quickly they sell out in Europe.
I already admitted they’ll sell.

But anyone who thinks they’ll make money buying a $100k Mach E is just fooling themselves.

I’ve heard the “Shelby as a collectors item” lie for decades now. You even called it “an investment,” which is just silly.

A few times in the past people were able and to buy a Shelby, rarely drive it, then “only” lose thousands of dollars a decade later. Example- paid $45k, sold for $37k.

Add in the losses to inflation, maintenance, insurance, storage, and it’s “only tens of thousands.”

Not an investment by a long shot.

Well, I guess there has been enough pou poing by now to discourage anyone from saying anything positive. Congrats.
Well, I did say that I liked the splitter. I was actually considering making something similar out of heavier material (fiberglass). All of that Carbon Fiber will lighten the car somewhat. Not sure what absolute effect that will have on performance. Probably pretty negligible given the weight of the car and the minor reduction in mass. ?‍♂?

Wrong car.

The “Shelby GT” was very different from the GT500.

But unlike the Mach E it did still have some mild performance upgrades:

And as this low mile, no accident version for sale (asking $19k) shows you, they aren’t investments and don’t appreciate in value:

Yep. Shelby American and Ford Shelby models aren’t the same thing. Shelby American chargers an arm and a leg and a wing (Goodfellas reference haha) for cosmetics and that coveted spot in the Shelby Registry. Sometimes they perform well, sometimes they don’t. And regular Ford Shelby models often hold their value better.

And of course it’s a lot easier to hold your value when the asking price is somereasonable-

Ford Shelby GT500- $76k

Shelby American GT500 Super Snake- $134k!!!

And yeah, you can still buy a “Shelby GT” for $25,000 more than a regular Mustang GT.

There’s good reason I see GT500s on the road all the time and rarely if ever see a Shelby American anything.

The hood is relatively light to start with. What's a 30lb reduction on a 6000lb car? For half that money you could get a lap-band and double the weight reduction.

Did you just call me 60 lbs overweight? I feel so judged.

Wait, are you saying a car made by Shelby American under the leadership of the old chicken farmer himself, wasn't a Shelby??? Mmmkay.

Sorry, but that’s just a pipe dream of Tesla fans.

You’re way overestimating the amount of people who put software and charging networks at the top of their list for reasons they buy a car. And Tesla already opened up their charging network to everyone else.

Tesla also has way underestimated how much external cosmetics of a car matter.

But either way, there’s a reason why cars have so many different looks and features. Everyone values different things.

I also think Covey is wrong.

If anything cars are way more diverse than in the past.

Just look at a poster like this for any decade of cars in the past:

It has a sucking sound attached to your wallet. Cheaper to buy badging and attach a stripe yourself.
