When the time comes, I highly doubt you would be able to buy the exact same year and spec used Mach-E for less (including taxes on the purchase, don't forget) than what your Ford Options payoff. And even if you did find the same or newer model used for less, would it really be worth rolling the dice and risk buying a car that someone else had traded in because it was troublesome?Yeah, my Ford Options plan ends in mid-2025 and it seems hard to imagine that it will make financial sense to keep the car at that point, though I haven't looked closely at the numbers yet.
This is how I'm approaching the decision when the time comes for me next spring.
I will add, that when I bought my car I fully anticipated that I'd be tired of it by the time the 3 years were up, and also that there would be less expensive and more advanced options available in the market that I'd rather have. So far, that hasn't come to pass.
