The LVB charged to 90% today after my up and back 2-hour commute. Steady at 14.4 volts.Leave the battery charger on until it reaches 100%. Some updates need as much as 95% battery to start.

Have you checked the LVB SOC at the end of a long charge? Here is what mine looked like recently. It hit 99% while finishing up the charge and then dropped a little when the EVSE stopped. The LVB charged to 90% today after my up and back 2-hour commute. Steady at 14.4 volts.
It was at 98% soc to start and ran for 25 minutes so not very long. The 12V lost charge from where it started from? The vertical line from 98 to 99% is weird and the battery charging values (4.2 to 0.9 Kw) are also. Was the battery at close to 100%? Not sure what to conclude from that graph as the 12V was fully charged to begin.Have you checked the LVB SOC at the end of a long charge? Here is what mine looked like recently. That data was taken when my car was basicly at 100% SoCD. It was just finishing up the charge. I posted it to share what I saw at the end of a 100% charge. If others are seeing a LVB SoC of much lower at the same point in a charge cycle, I would be concerned and maybe the LVB needs to be reconditioned. It was at 98% soc to start and ran for 25 minutes so not very long. Yes. This was my before list and after 4.2.6 it was gone.Question on 4.2.6.
On the first post there is no mention of a SOBDMB being part of that update. I suspect that there should have been one but that the car the data was taken from was RWD only (so no SOBDMB module).
Can you confirm that the SOBDMB would have also received an updated from OTA 4.2.6 if the car was AWD? If so I need to let Tonesto know to add that to his list of updated modules for that OTA.
Same thing happened to me. I even did the 3hrs in the garage on. Still failed. I did 6 hours (probably overkill), and then it worked. Mach-lee recommended this to me https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007ESQW08?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsI'm still so frustrated how hard it is to get any inhibit update on my car. Every time because of the 12V battery. At least I have a workaround now. But the workaround of "turning my car on and letting it run for 3 hours in my driveway" is a terrible, unacceptable workaround. And I wouldn't have even figured that out without help on this forum.
@Ford Motor Company as far as I'm concerned this is the biggest software-related issue you need to figure out, and it plagues a lot of people with this car who don't drive long commutes. Just read this thread. And the car gives no feedback as to what is wrong or how to fix it. Just that you tried and failed to install an update.
BTW, still waiting for 4.2.6 after spending 3 days trying and failing to install 23-PU0105-DC-CHG2 cause I didn't run it in my driveway long enough. 3 hours seems to consistently be the amount of time I need. Anything short of that and I might as well not try. I'm about to invest in something to charge that battery, and that's a pretty big waste of money for something that should "just work."
i think that’s a great workaround. But people who don’t use online forums probably will never see a suggestion like this and can’t get updates on their vehicle. Best $100 I spent. I charged and got the next update no problem. I drilled the holes and got the plugs. Followed this posts template. https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...ccess-battery-access.10976/page-3#post-290201
1000% agree! I don't drive a lot. My work commute is 5 miles. I would have never got this update! I had called Ford and they told me to take it to the dealer. What a pain in the ass that would be for everyone!i think that’s a great workaround. I saw your posts here, and ran my car for 12 hours last night, but still no joy. I called the for OTA hotline and spoke to a very helpful phone agent who said that since my HVB was only 85% that my LVB was apparently not getting above the LVB minimum state of charge threshold for this update, which he said he thinks is actually 98% for this update. His recommendation was to charge the HVB to 100% and then retry. Fingers crossed that 15th try will be the charm.Same thing happened to me. I even did the 3hrs in the garage on. Still failed. The phone agent also said that his team is having daily meetings with engineering to recap details collected during customer calls, and that they have mentioned they are working on perhaps making Power-Ups capable of topping up the LVB from the HVB as part of the update prep process.
