So ... I’ve got some news. Looks like our suspicions on the UK vehicles being built before we confirm is true!

I’ve just checked with my source and looked at my pre-order to double check on that hunch that we had.

We know our pre-orders were actually loaded onto the proper order system back in August, but obviously didn’t have any schedule details as it was way too early.

Well when checked today my order has a build date of tomorrow (3rd December 2020) and has a VIN number as well.

Obviously none of this info is visible to the customer via the web, but the dealers can see it.

The expected delivery date for my car is showing as March 16 2021.

Thats not good. Puts me back to June/July which in my opinion is NOT early or spring 2021

There are usually ships coming out of Veracruz at least once a week going to Antwerp so I can't see that they would build up too many to wIt

Phoned my dealer. My car showing as built on 24th November!! Due for delivery 13th March. I said to him though that I’ve not had chance yet to add options (re wheels etc) and what happens there. He wasn’t sure but thinks I would then need to have another car scheduled to be built which could change delivery date! He says there’s an email we will all get next week which should explain things a lot clearer. He only seen a webex yesterday and says that the dealers are going to have very little interaction with us during this process. Most if it will be done online.......

Do you think it's because you ordered an AWD model?

The common factor in those being built now (or last week!) is that they were all RWD models

Mmmm... good point. I guess I have to stop whining and just wait until the 15th and see.

The communication from Ford has been attrocious. I haven’t had any official emails from them in the 3 months since I pre-ordered.

I’ve emailed the concierge a couple of times and while she couldn’t have been nicer she didn’t actually get to the bottom of the issue. She assured me that I would get any further emails. ?

I know this year has had a few problems (understatement of the year) but I think keeping people willing to spend £50k on a car is a bit of a no-no.

I’m of the more recent pre-orders so maybe I need to work on my patience.?

If I have to wait longer than May/June then i’ll just cancel and go down the ICE route as there’s nothing else at the moment that has caught my eye on the EV front.

Well there's one advantage to limited selection of options. It's like pre-cooking the burgers at McDonald's: you order and they grab one off the warming shelf.
