That product looks neat and I considered it, but it's only 7.5W and I use the USB-C port that it uses for something else. But definitely a welcome product and way easier to install.
For the record, any non-Apple MagSafe puck will only yield up to 7.5W of power. This is an iOS limitation.

We do with our cars what makes up happy... Some people remove the lift gate GT emblem and replace it with a pony emblem,
IMG_0912.jpeg

...and others remove their wireless charger.

I say live and let live. ?
Some of us just chill in the frunk and put in a LVB access point. ??

Of course I have broken the door off when it was open and I was chilling too hard in the frunk. ??

I did end up designing my own 3D printed mount and install a 15W wireless charger from Amazon. I just finished installing it so I need a little time to see if it's any better than the one I removed:

This one's powered from the same connector as the one removed but it doesn't communicate with the car, so the car won't let you know that a phone is charging on it like the original one does, but I could care less as the phone tells me that..
This is excellent and very "hack-e"! I also have the twraps solution, and I'll say there are two advantages of this over yours potentially: (1) already solves the "camera bump" issue without any further cutting; (2) offers the ability to charge your passenger's phone too (important for marital bliss on long road trips). I think you'll find it only charges at 7.5kW.

Of course, your solve to the problem looks to be more fun (and cheaper).

If you're curious, grab the Amphere app from the App Store and see what it reports... (be sure to turn off "Optimized Battery Charging" in your iPhone Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging first).

Now that I have my car back from my frunk malfunction misadventure, I gotta finish editing my twraps video!

If anyone else needs dimensions to build your own, I can share:
Hmm, now I'm thinking I need to do one for a magsafe mount.

I wonder if you can disable the charger in Forscan. There is a spreadsheet entry in the IPC section under RMI Phone (RMIP) to disable or enable RMIP. But I have no idea what RMI means

Yeah. I asked the dealer if it could be shut off. Seems like shorting it out with foil is the crappy option. He said he never saw a way to shut it off.

The charger is its own module, WACM Wireless Accessory Charging Module. I would imagine if there is a way to disable it, it would be something within the actual module.

I sorry I know this is is a older thread, but I have recently become a Mach e owner and after testing the OEM wirelspess charger on a long ish journey, this is exactly what I am looking to do.

I have seen the TWRAPS version but I don’t really like the look of it.

I have a couple of questions which I am hoping you might help with.

You said this charge from the same connector as the original, do you have the part number for the connector and also the pin out?

Your design leaves the charger slightly proud, I am looking at re-using the original matt so I want to ask it flush, do you have a measurement as to how proud it is?

Would you be willing to share the 3d print file?

Thanks and good work!

A kind person shared some initial clues as to how to gain access to the wireless charger mounted under the media bin and I deduced the rest and now I have successfully removed it in my MME. Here are some tips to guide someone through it.

Do not try this if you do not feel comfortable. Do this at your own risk.

The question is how do you lift off the top of the media bin to get access to the bottom-side where the wireless charger is mounted?

You can guess that there are clips holding it in place:

But what is not obvious is that the front and back edges are also held in place by other pieces:
1676604633944.png

The front edge can be freed by removing the panel just above it, which has two clips (in red below) at the top and two catches (in blue below) lower down, and then it has a fit-hinge at the bottom so that after unclipping/catching you can lift it out of its hinges by holding it nearly closed and pulling up:
1676607557463.png

Now you can see the lip that holds it down in front:
1676607675206.png

The back edge can be freed by removing the PRNDL/Parking-Brake center console piece and its base holder. The top part of that center console piece is just held down with four clips on the four corners (in red below) and can be popped off its base holder with a little pull upwards. Then the base holder can be lifted out by removing four 9/32 inch screws (in blue below) holding it down. There is enough spare cabling to set them off to the side:
1676605622563.png

And now you can see the small lip that sits beneath the center console base holder:
1676605805234.png

Now you are free to pry up the media bin and cup holder top piece. I used a metal pry tool (probably not the best) and started at the front and worked my way back on both sides:
1676606255293.png

You can simply unplug the wireless module but leave it mounted:
1676606931355.png

I chose to remove the module altogether. To do that, remove the four Torx T20 screws:
1676606500783.png

I recommend putting the screws back in for safe keeping:

:

Of course reverse the steps to put it back together.

I hope this improves my range in the summer by not wasting energy on generating heat!

Edit: removed extraneous photos.
this was super helpful after an unfortunates melted ice cream incident!

@Ru55 - did you ever get the info on this? I’m basically in your spot, a year later.

Likewise. Where did everyone go?
I came across this thread because I was also looking to do the same thing.
I like this solution because it keeps the car feeling "OEM" since the charging solution won't be visible. And it's more of a permanent upgrade.
