Great further insights! Are you still keeping your MME?
For the moment! I'm honestly trying to convince my mom to buy it but she is anti "expensive" cars even though she could afford it at the hell of a deal I would give her.

I'm sure I'll eventually sell it but I haven't decided exactly when yet. I drove it quite a bit today actually.

It appears as if we agree on most of the points. Here's some that I can respond to...

-Todd set the ride height to "low" instead of "lowest" in conserve - it rides way better. It will remember you want low as well so next time you go to conserve it will just put it on low. It's like 1" higher but rides way better.
While you were crafting your reply I was likely modifying my OP because the more and more I went between the two I realized that I was comparing the two in a way which didn't make sense. So I revised my comment a bit. I do drive in conserve on low but I still think the MME GTPE is a bit better even on this setting. All purpose however I believe to be much smoother.

-Wireless charger in the rivian does not work with my iPhone 14. This is a known issue.
This is strange because in my R1T the charge pad works great. I think I saw that they replaced the original one with a different version that worked better. What's strange is that you would have got the old version while I got the new version and my truck is a couple months older.

-The Rivian factory floor mats I hated. I put the all weather ones in the second I got home from the plant. They're very similar in quality to Fords all weather mats.
I too immediately replaced them with the "yellow" all weather factory ones. I thought the floor-mat material was superior and likely easier to keep clean. I liked the look of them. I don't know if they are different based on the interior, but I went with ocean coast and they tied the colors in nicely.

Thanks for your feedback!

Odd. I was messing with it tonight and the only way I can get it to even recognize my phone is if I turn it sideways and have it in the perfect spot. Then again I doubt it will charge. Mine was built 6/23 so I assume it is the new version? No idea. Not a big deal I can just plug it in if I actually need to charge. Way faster anyways. I've used the wireless charger for my phone in the Mach E a total of like 10 times. Usually use it to charge my AirPods.

Did you have the Ford floor liners? I feel like these are comparable but to be fair I haven't cleaned them yet and really haven't taken a close comparison. I got Ocean coast as well with the dark wood.

Another couple comments I forgot to add. I know you touched on this but I did have two trim pieces that were not correctly installed/defective from the factory. I already have a service appointment to get them fixed. The Mach E had no fit/finish issues. The Rivian does have a few rattles but they're extremely minor and one of them seemed to have worked itself out. While I have had a few noises with the Mach E I didn't have any right away when brand new. I unfortunately notice rattles so quickly and I'll hear rattles that other people won't even hear at all until I point it out and they listen carefully.

I also appreciate that since its a higher 400v system that I can get the full 50kW out of a 50kW charge point charger haha. Makes up for the lower efficiency.

Yes I had both the Ford floor liners. The Ford ones are more like carpet but the Rivian ones are more like plastic or something else. I like that they aren't just one color. But it's just personal preference. Either way I threw them in the back storage and put the all weather ones in like you did.

As for the rattles. I had some as well and scheduled service. They took care of everything. Now it's quite as can be. It's just a different way of delivering a vehicle. They would rather get it in for service to resolve those small issues. But the service experience with Rivian is just so much better that it's actually pleasant.

Rivian copied Tesla controls and copied the same rattles. Lol.

My R1S has a top dashboard rattle. My last Y had a rattle from a loose rear view mirror.

If it's the top defrost grill I had the same. Mobile service fixed it in less than 15 minutes and it's quiet as can be now.

Yes that’s where the rattle is from. I pushed it down with my hand and it stopped temporarily.

My 23 Sequoia TRD Pro rattled everywhere (center console was the source of half of it). Too much plastic in the interior. Also assembled in Texas like my last Y :)

More proof the Rivian is basically a Tesla lol - TeslaFi is now available for the R1T/R1S https://www.electrafi.com/ so you can log minute by minute stats on a drive and charging session.

Thanks for this write up. It's probably saved me a couple 10 grand this month. I'm still waffling on this MME and had the bright idea yesterday to start diving into a R1T. It'd be a hella tight fit in my garage and can't seem to check boxes that I must have. (Most of the same boxes a GTPE vs my prem can't check either).

Care to share what boxes those are?
Rivian:
Park assist (I have 4.5 inches bumper to bump clearance in my garage unless I remove my cabinets, at least my MME tells me about where I am to hitting the cabinet door)
Range (without having to get the mega battery)
Dual motor (I don't think I need 4 motors really)
Price (used, because I'm a gov employee)
ACP (I use it way more than I ever thought I would)
Hands free with auto resume cruise (I'm screwed in traffic from time to time for hours on end. Monday's trip back from my cabin was 4.5 hours to go 125 miles. 70 of that was stop and go or sub 10 mph)

MME GTPE:
* All the problems we see on here
Has to be a Job1 2022 or older
Will probably still fault, beep, and piss me off but be faster with a better ride.

To comment on those...

Rivian has parking aids, sensors and cameras it just doesn't have park assist where it parks for you.

Rivian with dual motors and the max pack gets over 400mi EPA. Even the dual motor large pack gets about 350mi. Dual motor is being shipped now.

Rivian has driver+ which does stop and go traffic. It's just not hands free. It's basically the same as BC with hands on.

For the MME, there's no job 1 GTPE vehicles. They are all job 2 in 2021. Yes they are a bit faster and I've never driven in a non GTPE, but it's been discussed many times that the ride is indeed better. Rivian in all purpose mode is still a better ride than the GTPE.

If I had to decide between the two it would go something like this. If I'm interested in more fun I would pick the GTPE. If I'm interested in an overall happier experience and more practicality I would go with Rivian. That's just my opinion and a lot of the more fun comes from the lower ride height which makes it feel more fun, not that it actually is.

When I meant job1 2022, I think it's before July 2022. (After the 'summer break, I've heard of it being referred to as Job1/Job2) They started stripping stuff I actually wanted after the summer cut off in 22, and then BC prices go through the roof (If Ford is that dumb to keep trying to charge $800 a yr).

No it is not. There is no lane centering on non-mapped roads. Plus lane centering, on mapped highways, always requires manual re-engagement after lane changes.

He specifically called out stop and go traffic and adaptive cruise, in that regard it's basically the same without hands free, which is what I said. While there's not the level of lane assist on non mapped roads there is lane keep and it will nudge you to stay in the lane. My op calls out the differences, I was only referring to the specific use case.
