From my current research, there are wired chargers and chargers that connect to a NEMA 14 - 50 outlet.
Curious, what is your recommendation for a charger that connects to a NEMA (not wired)?
Hard to tell, but it seems quite a few say the Ford Mobile Charger isn’t reliable. Hence, my question as to recommendations…

I have ChargePoint in two separate homes. Works like a charm, highly recommend.

With Chargepoint, is an account required with them, if you're only using the home charger?

Also, does this home unit still work, if you do not have access to WIFI? My signal for WIFI might be rather weak in the garage. Hence, the question...

Tesla has come out with a universal charger that will charge both CCS and NACS vehicles, but they will not start shipping until October. With the NACS change happening in the near future, this might be the one to go with for $595. The link is HERE
...it does look nice. Alas, I would prefer a unit that connects to a NEMA 14 - 50, versus hardwired. Thus, if something happened to it, I could change it myself, easily.

Keep in mind that a home EVSE is not a "charger" at all. It's merely an extension cord that safely provides the amount of current the car is requesting. When connecting via L2, the "charger" is in the car.
Any other capabilities like wifi, app controls, timer settings, etc are extras that you may or may not deem necessary.

Count me as another vote for Emporia. It is feature rich if stats are your thing and the price is hard to beat. I've had mine for close to nine months now and so far it has been very reliable.

I have the Wallbox Pulsar Plus and really like it. It has smart features that track your usage. Small footprint and separate holder for the nozzle. They always update the software and unit. It has worked flawlessly for over 2 years now with the Mach-e.

Sorry, my mistake to first Q. No there us no account required. And yes it works without WiFi to monitor.

I think I may be in the minority, but I went with a relatively “dumb” 40a charger. I use the MME to control my charging functions (time of day, amount to charge), so I just need it to charge when plugged in and the car calls for electricity.

I happened to buy the Mustart 40A ($269 on Amazon). It’s been flawless.

I use chargepoint home charger and Juicebox...yes I have 2 chargers..

Both have the option for 14-50 but I hard wired mine, each on a 50 amp breaker.

This just makes no sense. Please anyone reading this, 50A is best connected via an outlet because you’ll have flexibility to swap to another device easily. Hard wire something and you’re stuck with a lot more effort on switching.

Somehow it got started that hardwire is safer than outlet. This simply is not true. If you follow code for your residence and choose a quality outlet, it’s just fine to have an EV charge from an outlet.

I do not park in a garage, I park outside why it is hardwired.
