OTA is always a hot topic for the Mach-E - especially in EU/UK when we frustratingly see our US friends blazing ever further ahead with their software updates.

This poll if a bit different though - rather than focusing on the version numbers and the issues it’s a simple Yes/No - has your car been offered any OTA updates since you took delivery?

The reason I ask is I’m starting to see a few posts where people are saying “I’ve never had an update” - and I can personally relate to that as my MY22 car that I took delivery of in May 2022 has not had a single OTA attempt in the 16 months I’ve owned it.

I’d always put it down to the fact I keep my vehicle pretty up-to-date using the dealership tool FDRS, however I’ve recently noted that others who use FDRS are still getting OTA’s offered, so my argument for mine being deathly quiet has been blown out of the water.

Over to the good folk of the UK - let me know…….

Hi Tony, not sure if you need a third option - had problem resolved by Ford and now receiving OTA updates. We were not receiving OTA updates on our First Edition built March 2021 purchased August 2021. Following the many posts here and on Facebook we felt there was a problem and decided to try and get the problem resolved. Our dealer is Lookers Ford Sheffield which resulted in the first problem of coping with their centralised phone system which makes it hard to build a relationship with your local service advisor. We took advantage of the 'many' recalls to ask them to look at why we were not receiving OTA updates pointing out we were aware of issues via user groups. Also, they noticed I always collected my wife in our Mustang convertible so that helped build a bit of a relationship. Of course we were told everything was OK and just be patient. So waited a month or so and still no updates, booked a return visit and this time following advise from Ford a full factory reset was carried out and again told updates would start to appear but as they are released in batches based on VIN it may take a few weeks before we see anything. Of course no updates arrived so via Facebook we sent a DM to Ford UK Customer Services we tried to keep the message light but pointed out we were aware of problems through various online groups. We were asked to book another visit to the dealer and let them know the date so they could get a Ford Tech to talk with the dealer. I think we repeated this process for three visits and in the ongoing communication with Ford we mentioned we had three Mustangs which seemed to attract their attention. Eventually one of the hardware modules was replaced (APIM was mentioned but not sure if there is a module called that) and we were told there had been a faulty batch of modules at one point in production. Once the module was replaced and we waited a few weeks OTA updates started to arrive. We now have Alexa, our grandson is enjoying some games and we received 4.2.1.2 this week. Finally, I'm not sure if our experience resulted in Field Service Action 22808 - ECU not updatable which appeared soon after and which Ford Pass Pro insists we need but the dealer says is not showing as outstanding on our car. Sorry for the long post and hope it makes some sense. Hope to meet you Saturday at Dunton.

I have the 4.2.1.2 on the 11 Aug & had an email saying a major update was due. The next one looks as if it brings a lot. However still awaiting. Car due for a service next in November if it hasn’t happened by then may see technical services to force it on the service

Mine seems to get an update every other week. The only thing I noticed that changed on the last but one was I got the ability to enable the front camera, 3D camera on the sync screen, this had never been present on my May2023 Mach E when it was on the dealers demo which clearly had older SW

Last update Ford Power up on the 01/10, didn’t seem to change anything 5.1.1

Mine went into my Dealer in May and had a lot of work done re the updates.

Had 3 updates since, the latest being 3.5.2.1

But- the one before was a disaster! It's screwed up the cruise control system totally. Now I can't select lane centering and adaptive cruise control which I used to use in tandem whenever I was driving on the A30 or A38 in Devon and Cornwall. Now if I want to use Lane centering cruise control goes to 'Smart cruise control' which overrides my speed settings and makes the car drive to posted speed limits. OK goin0 in stagesg down, but when it tears away once it's spotted a higher limit it is scary and dangerous. (there are parts of the A38 which can and do go from 30 to 60 and even 70 in a very quick sequence...)

As it happens This ocurred a week before my car went in for for it's service in late August. Obviously I mentioned this and the receptionist said he'd heard about ythis. He went into the workshop and gave me a print out from Ford (?) ref this problem.

Yet again another OTA that has screwed up things! Ford are aware of it and will be releasing an OTA to fix it. It's not something that can be done at the dealers.

Anyway- anyone had this? The special notice is SSM 51848.

Any ideas Tone?

I got my car in April 2022, I have a few ota's but they didn't actually seem to do anything.
I got a message in Jan 23 saying I need to take it to dealers as my car was blocking updates because of the alarm configuration. Got this sorted in March.

Then in June I got the PU2001-PR-FX update which said "minor update will prepare your vehicle for the final part of Alexa" its says it should arrive shortly, I haven't had anything since.

No Alexa, no bluecruise, no new UI, most of the games are missing.

The whole time I have had the car, I haven't had any new features or notable changes to the car.
I have basically given up hope that it'll ever get updated. In fact I have actually lost features I used through the Ford Pass App.

When I bought the car I was under the impression that as updates got released, they would come
through within a few weeks, I don't know why there isn't an option for people to manually update it.
Or send a request from in the car itself, how hard is it?

Totally agree- I love the car as a driving machine but this update situation is crap.

I've had problems with updates, which my dealer supposedly sorted earlier in the year. I did receive the Alexa update OTA, but nothing since then. In August (2023), I received a recall letter from Ford (ref: 22B08 - Electronic Control Module Recovery) that there is an internal error that prevents the receipt of software updates - and this affects a "number of Mach-E's". So another trip to the dealer (now 4 times this calendar year)....

Hi I have a 2021 ER RWD which I got in Jun2021. I have never had an OTA Update and never had an update email. I have no idea what my Power up version is. The car has been in for two services several recalls and a couple of issues (one faulty handbrake motor). Every time its gone in to Stoneacre York or BSM in Morpeth I've asked about OTA Updates. I've asked what version I'm on and nobody can tell me - they just say you're up to date. I then shout but up to date to what VERSION?!. No answer. They think I'm slightly mad, they may be right. Ford UK can't even tell me if they are trying to send me updates (I suspect not). I live in Northumberland - do you know a good place for me to take it?

PS after a few months I gave up on Android Auto, I found it annoying. Should I reinstate it - does it affect updates?

Thanks for any help.
