Ford BEV team made me an appointment Wednesday for mine, so I'm right there with you.
I ran into this with my last car, for an airbag recall—I think they were hoarding the parts for used cars they wanted to sell. I ended up getting the helpful guy on the Ford recall hotline make the (Lincoln) dealer appointment for me. I just had to show up with the car. I hope the method works this time.
I'm never been apart of a recall like this where I've had the part replaced that's listed under the recall. I would imagine Ford would find a way to filter those of us out, but who knows.
Likely not otherwise it wouldn't be isolated to vehicles before May 24, 2022, it would be on all of them.
It's not just for ER and GT, it's just pointing out that a previous fix may not have detected the damage correctly.Because of this part:
If they think the previous fix was only ineffective on ER models, I suspect those will be the only models included in the new recall.
If they’re doing this recall because the NHTSA is on their case about vehicles losing motive power despite having the recall software update, I could see them only including cars that were included in the first recall and maintaining their “replace it when it fails” strategy for newer cars.
Yes but that date is the official date when the vehicles started getting equipped with the new HVBJB. So that date has a lot of significance. It's not just some random date when they issued a recall or started installing software. There was a hardware change that occurred on the assembly line on that date.
Not sure that's correct. Between the first MachE sold and May of 2022 they sold 43,580 units, but only 30k are being recalled. That leads me to believe that the 13k excluded are SR units.
