Do we know yet, say from Magic Dock SuperChargers, how much Tesla will charge non-Tesla cars to charge?

The rates for Tesla vehicles and non-Tesla vehicles are different at the same location. Using superchargers with my M3P, I have seen prices ranging from 16 cents per kWh to 36 cents per kWh. For non-Tesla vehicles, I have seen prices anywhere from 50 cents per kWh to 68 cents per kWh. If you have a Tesla both the car and the app will show you the current pricing for any station. I would assume with a non-Tesla, you would need to use the app to find out that info.

It would be nice if Plugshare had the prices at the Superchargers. Oh well another app, just to see what the prices are.

Kinda crazy that we're getting to a point where people will be price-shopping DCFC like gas stations.

they have a "membership" rate and a "pay-as-you-go" rate. for my one session at a location in hydroelectric generation central (BPA on the columbia river) the pay-as-you-go rate was $.28/kWh and the membership rate was something around $0.20/kWh. membership is $12.99/mo so i'd have to supercharge A LOT to make it worth it.

My pension is getting screwed by inflation. My wallet is not bottomless. I was told it is cheaper to fuel an EV, so I have a habit of needing to verify that.

It's really only cheaper if you charge at home, or even L2 charge it, rather than DCFC. DCFC prices are about even with average gas prices and so on.

I recently made a 400 mile trip and paid for no power since I found two free DCFCs and use an EA that was free from FORD. I traveled 800 miles with no fuel charge on my credit card.

Free DCFC is definitely the exception rather than the norm, so I wouldn't expect free DCFC to be free forever, and Ford only gives you 250 kWh, so that's about three to four "fillups" or so.

I do agree that having to check prices is important, and fortunately the Tesla app gives you prices - and even gives you pricing if you have a membership.

Still cheaper in Ontario to road trip the Mach-E vs. my ICE SUV. Normal trip to Montreal and back is probably two tanks of gas @ ~$120 a pop. Total cost of charging one-way last weekend was $44.72. I left at 100%, but that home "fill-up" was probably about $3.00

So ~$100 is still much less than $240 for the whole trip.

I just noticed the other day its cheaper for a tesla to charge at a supercharger than other EV's. I am curious if they will be able to continue doing that after taking a bunch of government money. Seems like they would be required to charge the same.

Yes because you can access the lower rates by joining their membership program. EA, EVGo, and many other charging companies do this.

This is common in CA. During peak charging periods you see lots of Teslas at EA stations to save money.

Yes, you can join to save money but all cars are charged the same amount without a membership and the same price with a membership. Tesla cars at superchargers get the membership rate without paying the $12 a month membership fee. For you and I in our non tesla vehicles will pay 10 cents a kW more unless we pay that $12 membership fee.
