So, while on vacation wife's phone got lost. New phone purchased. No PAAK on new phone.

We tried to set it up with no luck and in the process performed a PAAK reset in the car. So, now neither of us have PAAK.

Logged out of app, even deleted it entirely and re-downloaded it and still neither of us have the set up as a PAAK on the Home Screen on our apps/phones

My phone is iPhone 13, here's is a 14. PAAK worked fine prior to me monkeying around with it on my phone.

What am I doing wrong? She is currently on the phone with Fordpass and I have no confidence that it will get sorted out by them

Delete PaaK in car. Delete phones in car.

Delete all Bluetooth connections with the car on the phones. Delete cache on app. Delete app. Reboot phone. Reinstall app.

Does it matter which order these steps are done?

Delete app, reboot phone, then start app, then bluetooth connection?

The main one is resetting the paak in the car. This will reset your app to have that button to "set up phone as key" under the mach e picture. Bluetooth and deleting app are just extra just in case imo. I recently had to redo both my phones since I got new phones. Once you get that option and set up the Bluetooth pairing, you will have to wait for the prompt in the car to set up the startup password and pin entry.

Hope that helps

Remove connections before reinstalling the app.

I've done it in a few different orders and I don't get the prompt on either phone.

It's just a frustrating process, IMHO

Good luck! I hope it works for you again. I lost PaaK over a year ago and have tried all the above suggestions several times since without success. (I keep hoping an update will fix it.)

I think we're back in and working.

Had to do a factory reset on the touch screen and reload everything.

This is not an intuitive process

I did get both phones back as PAAK after doing a factory reset in the car. Just resetting PAAK did not work for me.

Besides this issue, overall does PaaK work okay for you?
Am still on the fence to using it. So many posts about it, I keep putting it off...

IMHO the people on here who have posted about PAAK problems are a very loud minority.

The forum is where people come to post and discuss issues they're having. People rarely post online if they are having a good experience.

Based on my own experience and hearing from others on the forum is the vast majority of people use PAAK daily and love it. There is a group that dailies it, loves it, but still distrusts it, so they always keep a fob in the car. I do not fall into this category - but if you want a back up people do that.

I'm only one person, but my personal experience has been very good. I find it to be VERY reliable. I don't even remember my backup code - I haven't had to use it in well over a year.

The one caveat here is that your experience is VERY phone dependent. If you have a phone from the last year or two your experience will likely be excellent. If you have an older phone, your experience will be good, but a little slower and maybe a bit less reliable.

Also, don't forget when you reset PaaK in the car, it DELETES the door column pin to unlock the car, and deletes the password you can use to start the car if you don't have a key (or if your phone dies and Paak doesn't work). Ask me how I know that! Painful exerience.

Regarding PaaK reliability, I used it exclusively from August 2022 to about February 2023, when an update caused it to stop working (I think). Then, an update earlier this summer fixed it, and I have been using it exclusively again since then. It's been working great, with occasional hiccups where it take a few seconds to recognize the phone when I approach the car. I love it.
