Is it a fool's errand to uninstall Ford Pass, delete Bluetooth connection, reset PaaK in car.

Then reinstall and set it up from scratch?

Odd that you had such good luck with the Betas though.

I didn't take any betas, had the issue starting with March security update and never resolved (including sideloading A14 to my P7P) until I got the P8P.

I didn't do this myself but there's not much to lose. In theory that is one difference between my P7P and P8P but I'm not convinced that was it.

Would be interesting to see if @DevSecOps has had any problems with his P8P and FP PaaK now.

I think what someone had mentioned about multiple devices, and this issue building over time may be the issue? So after most of the betas paak would greatly improve for a period, then get back to the same issues. Maybe it was during that period where it was working that I would connect my phone to another bluetooth and that would trigger the paak issues? The competing connections? no idea. Paak has been much smoother lately, but still not as strong as it was for all of 2022.

deleting the key in FordPass (vehicle->features&settings->paak settings) and resetting PaaK on the car side is definitely worthwhile. the bluetooth connection for media in the car isn't used for PaaK so clearing that doesn't seem like it would have any impact.

my PaaK has been much better since i switched to the android 14 betas. i ended up staying on the QPR1 beta train and it has slipped a little with the latest one (more reconnects needed; usually fixed by toggling BT off/on) but still better than carrying the fob.

i use a few other BT connections also and they are solid - fitbit charge 5, occasional ear buds, OBDII, trackers, etc.

if there is an issue though i'd suspect you'd see them for hearing aids more frequently and can see how that would be much more frustrating.

I've been running the P8P since launch and it's been perfect with PaaK. AA has been miserable and constantly crashes.

My experience with the P7P still exists and as I mentioned previously preventing FP from running seems to make the phone work with all other BT devices.

I think there's some issue with FP and the P7 line.

I'll chime in on the P8P. In the beginning I didn't see any difference between the 7 and 8 on stock A14, however, after install A14 beta 2.... PaaK have been completely flawless... I haven't had to use the door pin...or had to restart my phone prior to starting my car.

But like @DevSecOps have said, wireless AA tends to crash at first launch, but most of the time it starts working if I manually launch it.

You had issues with P8P + A14? Mine has had no issues and I've had it for ~1.5 weeks now and driven a lot.

Yea it didn't work very well on A14 stable for me. It had a lot of issues connecting. And would often have to sit in my car trying to get it to connect.

PAAK has been light years better with P8P for me. I didn't use the P7P with A14 long so I can't comment much there. It was better-ish, but that might have been unrelated.

Many times with P7P + A13, I had to open FP (even though it was running) and wait for it to connect. Then it work fine at the door and in the car.

I haven't had to do that with the P8P, but I have had to use the keypad to get in the car a couple times. The car always starts without any phone interaction, so it's possible that I didn't press the open button enough times, or wait long enough for it to wake up. I have noticed that it pops the puddle lights most times when I walk by, it almost never did that with the P7P.

I haven't had any issues with AA with P8P or P7P+A14.

I had the same experience for the first couple weeks. In the last few days I've had to restart the phone 3 times just to get PaaK to connect. So, while it appeared promising, I'm back to the same shenanigans.

I still think this is an issue with FP causing there to be a lock on BT. Every time I've tested BT connectivity without FP running I never have any problems.

I'm leaning that direction too. I've had more time with it, and while it's not perfect, P7 + A14 is better than A13.

But I still think this blame lies at Google. Not issues with Galaxy (that I know of). And the OS shouldn't allow a single app to completely screw up BT for everything else.

Well it's still an issue on the P8P, so if you think it's Google, which I once did, then you'll probably be holding your breath for a long time.

My P8P luckily has not broken at all and honestly my QoL has gone up significantly. I dread the day it (inevitably) breaks
