So, I had the mobile service come to my house this morning for this CSP. It was a great experience overall. He showed up on time and knew what he was doing. The tech said my car apparently already had this installed. Got a frunk button out of it though - thanks to you guys.
I see a new note on this CSP:

For vehicles that are already at the latest software level, please use Labor Operation 23B50A. It pays 0.3 hours.

This would seem to confirm that the overheating fix was previously released, so I'm expecting number of Mach-E's to not have any charger updates available. Although there were some updates that were just released today.

Signs are pointing to this CSP release being way behind (~6 months) the software release with the fix, which apparently is the genesis of the derate issue.

So if it is not on FDRS dealers have no alternate access?

REASON FOR THIS PROGRAM
...... software does not have a transfer function that predicts the charging port pin/terminal temperature. Some customers indicate that their battery may not fully charge and/or the charge cord may become stuck in your vehicle. Customers may also experience a burning smell or melting of the charge port pins.

Is this what has been done we have been transfer functioned ? ? Is this the software of early June and it brought in a transfer function monitor so they would not melt or have a burnt smell? Pins q-tip cleaned shinny and straight to me. Nothing wrong with the connection to date that I can see. No problems L2 charging to 100% never felt it stuck melted locked. Guess I will eventually push my dealer for them to show me they can get 40 48 amps steady and prove me wrong.

Just a couple of bugs left.

When cold just want to plug it and forget it; fire off a departure schedule when I plan to take off and it has 40 amp.

Just like I said above been putting up with this slow BS charging ever since. I suggest everyone that has had no problems charging for 2+ years run and get this one so Ford can crap out your charging and say this is normal operation for defective hardware.

Mach-Lee, I have a MY 23 that was built the week after the CSP cut-off date, but the updates for all of the related modules popped up for me in FDRS a few days ago. I'm curious if you have any thoughts about what is going on, since my car (supposedly) already has the needed fixes.

I am beginning to wonder if this update is the reason for my horrible charge speeds when DCFC. I used to peak at 150-160 and maintain in the 80-100 range, now I peak at 42-52 and maintain at 25-40 range.

I don't even know how I missed this. I went in for a fix to my coax cable on my cam today. Told I needed to get this updated (don't) and there's another recall they are doing about my parking harness or something which I really don't know anything about.
Maybe this?

So it seems vehicles after Nov 22 have an updated SOBDM SW that has that transfer function? It seems odd that Ford took so long to figure out not having it in earlier models would be a problem.

Thankfully mine is build date Dec 1, 22 so supposedly I'm safe from this.
Yeah, it was a bit of a surprise to me to find out that they were building '23 model Lightnings as far back as January 10th of 2022, when my '22 model was built on May 9th of '22. I wonder if that's a misprint? I know my VIN isn't included in this on either the Lightning or MME, but I still have a full powertrain set of updates in my list that showed up recently.

Likewise, FDRS started reporting a bunch of the powertrain related modules need updates this week for me.

I received a snail mail letter today saying that this would be an OTA- considering I am still on 4.2.5 and then the RAD update I don’t think I am getting 6.6 too soon.

have an appt. with dealer to do that install.

I am confused. I received a letter from ford dated 30 October that says:
Ford Motor Company has released (emphasis added) an Over-The-Air (OTA) software update to remedy this issue.
I’ve been stuck on 6.1.0 going on a month (2021 Job 1). Does this mean that Ford has released the update, my car didn’t get it, and I should be contacting the dealer? Or is it just caught behind the “6.X OTAs have been paused for Job 1s” logjam?

I'm in the same boat. We're waiting on Ford to actually release the updates to our vehicles. Nothing you can do at this time, unless you'd prefer to spend the time and stress to work with your local service department.

Here's my mental model as a visual for you. Maybe Ford agrees, who knows?

I am one of those who scheduled something with the local service department. My last update was 8/17, the RAD update right after 4.2.5. I don’t have much faith of getting this update at this point.
