Well, it’s been a year and I was told I had the upgraded HVBJB unit and now it looks like it’s broken again. reduced power and maintenance light request again :(

it looks like the new unit has the same lifespan as my original unit.

Yup. I don’t drive it that hard either. 20,000 miles.
Did it happen while charging? If so, did you try shutting down the vehicle for 15min to see if it clears?

Happened while accelerating on an onramp to the highway. Exact same symptoms and scenario as my last HVBJB issue. Same errors on my ford app.

from what i was reading it seemed like dc fast charging might b the bigger problem, have you done that a lot at high kw?

from what i was reading it seemed like dc fast charging might b the bigger problem, have you done that a lot at high kw?
almost never. Maybe 10 times since I have owned the car and only 20 minutes worth each time.

I called the NHTSA and they had no interest in discussing my issue, claiming that Ford had a recall in place for the problem I was describing. They were not capable of understanding how I could have already had the part that is Ford’s solution to the recall fail.
This is the real problem, failures are still happening and Ford has no idea how to really fix this part.

its happened to a few 23’s also.

a real shame and sorry it’s happened to you a second time.

I guess that’s when you call your congressman and tell them about the problem and NHTSA’s poor response?

Since your current failing HVBJB was ordered in July of 2022, it's possible you got the old part for replacement instead of the new part. Which would probably be why it failed again. End of July/early August was right around the time they switched to stocking the new part.

Ask your mechanic to take a picture of the part that came out of your car with the numbers on the white contactor sticker visible. Then we can tell for sure if you got old or new.
