Drive to Florida to visit son for a week. Plug in. Get 1.1kW per hour. Go somewhere each day for a few hours. Plug in when you get back. By the time you go to leave, at 100%.
I do exactly that when we spend a week at the lake every year. I arrive at 30-40% and leave the car plugged in all the while we’re there. Even with a few trips to the grocery store, etc., I have enough to get back home by the end of the week.

I thought of that, but how many houses have a 14-50 outlet readily available? And using a 110v outlet at someone's house is sort of pointless, in my view, because it would take several days to charge the MME.
We visit my parents on the coast of maine alot, its a 2.5hr drive, 130 miles, but that area of maine is a bit of charging desert. My dad installed a 14-50 himself and I paid for parts. I also venmo him each visit (he gets a kick out of it). I carry mine to use there, or in an emergency elsewhere. So if you go some place often might be worth it for you to have an outlet installed.

Yeah I have mine in the trunk and have used it maybe once. Only when we went to see family out in a EV desert area. (No Fast Chargers or reliable L2s) So we plugged in over night on 110v to just get what we could and keep the battery warm. (It was -20F on that trip.)

Probably should just pull it from the trunk at this point and bring it when I need to. lol

One came with my 2023 and I used it until I could get my Emporia installed. Now it's in the trunk and I haven't used it since. It's not competing for space, so it can stay there.

I have a charging GoBox with 5 x 240V and 2 x 120V AC adapters, and also a TeslaTapMini 60-amp adapter (see pics) as well as an 2011-era very reliable variable-voltage 20-amp portable EVSE (coiled on the yellow cord donut).

We have gone coast - to - coast this Summer and on various longer range trips throughout the past 12 months. When we feel like it, we camp (and charge). While camping and also at some hotels, at friends' houses and garages and even at some restaurants, it has paid for us to accumulate these adapters to my EVSE with a NEMA L6-30P connector. I charged overnight at a friend's seldom-used garage welder receptacle in Minnesota.

I've used five of these eight adapters so far... all but the TeslaTapMini with my portable old EVSE of course. And we have never yet been short of juice during our adventures, even in Munro South Dakota where its sole DC Fast Charging Station for "miles and miles around" was broken.

By others' reports here, I judge the Ford OEM EVSE to not be reliable enough to count on when it really counts. It's in the basement in its packing.

Of course, all this depends on whether the EV driver is comfortable / adventurous enough to travel beyond one's normal local travel patterns. Our furthest trip so far was 10,515 miles.

Connecting to 120V does not warm the battery.

No, it won't warm a battery, but it can help its temp degrade slower if it's already warm from driving and parked. There is still energy being exchanged and anything will help.

No. All of the power on 120V goes to the charger. The heater isn’t even turned on. People on here have verified this with CarScanner.

If your asking would I buy one - no. But I am glad I have one and I will keep it whenever I sell/return/trade-in my car.

I'm not talking about the heater...

I keep the hardware that was included with the car in the trunk, but I have never used it.

I consider it as an emergency tool. Just as one would have a window breaker in case of car submersion, I keep the hardware in the trunk in case I need it.
