The charger is part of the car, so yes.
I wasn’t going to go there! ?
Pretty soon you’re going to expect that people know the difference between a kW and a kWh. Or that DCFC isn’t actually level 3. Or that household voltage is 120, not 110. I‘ve given up.

I carry it in the frunk but I have only ever used it a couple of times in the past 2 years. But it is nice to have just in case. I thought about only carrying it with me when on long road trips, but that means I would have to remember to put it in the car before the trip. The reason I keep it in the frunk is that if I am on a road trip and need it, I don't want it to be buried under the luggage. I also keep the tire inflator kit up front as well (and a couple of camping chairs that are useful for Cars & Coffee).
I use mine exactly this way. I only use it on trips, so I keep mine in the frunk so that it is not buried under suitcases that I'd have to remove before plugging in.

If you don't go on a trip, there is no need for a charger in the vehicle. You will rarely find a 14-50 outlet, and 110v charging for an hour or two is a waste of time.
But 110v charging over the course of a stay somewhere like a lake house is perfect. I have done several trips with family now spanning a couple days where we charge enough to get home or at least to a fast charger using the 110 outlet over the course of the stay.

Then you’re not heating anything.
Not as much as applying a purpose-built heat source, but charging the battery will supply some heat to the battery. It's just chemistry.

That qualifies as a trip in my book...

Have you ever felt the heat coming off your computer? There isn't a heater in that... it's due to electricity flowing... The laws of energy are hard, I know...

I just bought a CR1 and was wondering if you carry a charger in your Mach-E. Is there value in having one readily available?

Thanks!
I have my Mobile Charger plugging into 14-50 outlet in my garage for daily charging both my wife's BMW 330e, and my MME. The only times I take it with me is when I go on a long roadtrip or overnight somewhere and may want to grab a charge.

We don't have (any) fast DCFC stations north of Taos, so I bring my mobile in case I need to charge at an RV park or somewhere with a 240v outlet.

Since I have a '21, I keep the Ford Mobile EVSE in the frunk along with a 25 foot heavy duty cold rated 110 volt extension cord. I have a 25 foot NEMA 14-50 cord that I could use, but do not usually carry. I also have a TeslaTap that I have used at some POIs.

Being in the northern part of the US, some motels have 110 outlets for block heaters. I usually search these out when I arrive at a motel and have added a few in the US and Canada to PlugShare. I have run across a NEMA 14-50 outlet at a couple of motels, but they were for use by the owner to charge their EV. One motel wanted $20 to use the 110 outlet, so I did not use it.

Level 1 is slow, but I have gotten 16%, or at least 40 miles of range, from a 13 hour charge overnight. It has helped ease my mind or allowed me to DC fast charge at a better site more along the route. One time it allowed me to top off to 100% after I fast charged nearby. On a multiple day stay at a motel, it allowed me to mostly recover the energy spent driving around the area.

The result is a change of view about Level 1 being totally useless, so I keep the EVSE with the car. I have only used the 25 foot extension cord to power the power supply I use to do updates with FDRS.

It’s not that hard to realize a few watts of waste heat won’t materially heat a 1500 pound mass. I’m done.

I have a 110/220 set that came with the car. It fits under the cargo area floor nicely, and will be nice to have if I'm ever stuck in an area without fast charging or if I'm charging at a family or friend's home.
I do the same. Was at a Fairfield Inn and they did not have a charging station but they said I could plug into their 110v.

I keep our mobile EVSE, some adapters, and when we travel a 12v jump box in the Mach-e charger case I ordered with some FordPass points. I think it only makes sense to keep your options open for how little space it takes up if going on a trip. Would do the same with our ICE vehicles on certain trips (like crossing some of the long, straight, nothing to see or do highways on the western side of the US) when it comes to a small gas can if there was somewhere safe to put it. With EVSEs it's thankfully so easy and lacks the fumes of a gas can, may as well have it everywhere.

On Out of Spec Motoring I remember Kyle's dad about ran out, I think he tried to go to a DCFC but it was down, and the next one was 15 miles away but he was down to like 1% charge. He plugged in to the 120v outlet behind a gas station ice maker. Took over an hour to get enough, but beats dealing with a tow.

Once DCFC is as common and reliable as gas pumps, well, at least as reliable I don't think they need to be as common, then I could see not always having one. But it's such simple insurance.

Used the one in our 21 in June of of last year when on a road trip. (Only time)

The charger in our 22 is still in the wrapper. Do have L2 Tesla taps in both cars and they do get used much more on trips.

I live in Indiana. I not only carry a charger, but I have two different Tesla destination adapters at all times. I minimize risk of getting stranded somewhere if theres an emergency that requires me to drive long distance and depend on ever shrinking charging options on the road.

As backups I have an extra 120/220 mobile charger ready to go should the Ford one crap out, a 40a wallbox in my garage, a Grizzl-e 40a installed at my parent's home, and a partridge in a pear tree.

Edit: almost forgot my j1772 extension ?. Came in handy this weekend. Charger was iced.
