I don't know that there's a phone number you can call.

On the GFM...have you tried a PMI to force a refresh of the software?

I think I did it once, I might just buy another 3 day subscription and call their support. My guess is that so many techs flashed the modules in an incorrect order that they just stopped posting them.

New Mach-E owner here, '21 Job 1 MME Premium. VIN is #3FMTK3SU6MMA04285. Am getting conflicting info from my dealer vs. what Fordpass shows and would really appreciate it if someone could run FDRS for me...thank you in advance!

25 Nov '20 build date, early Job 1 car.

Here's the list of available updates:
Ford Mustang Mach-E Post here if you have an active FDRS account and are willing to look up info for others 3FMTK3SU6MMA04285-21-Nov-23

Your software revision on your APIM (Sync) is old enough that I can't even tell what Sync version it is. When you go to the General menu in Sync and select About Sync what does the version number say? The most current version for '21 model cars would be 980 or possibly 1049.

Menu says 917. Is that something the dealer has to update? Would needing any of those updates be why I'm having USB port or parking sensor issues?

Well that's interesting becasue I've never seen a Sync 917 version. I've seen a Sync 915, but not 917.

It kinda looks like your APIM was replaced on the 15th...would that be right?

So when they did the replacement they didn't keep doing the updates until there were no more available like it says at the bottom of the available updates screen:
Ford Mustang Mach-E Post here if you have an active FDRS account and are willing to look up info for others Additional_Updates

that text was added recently when FDRS was updated to release 38...so the tech probably just did the one update necessary to install the APIM, and thought you would get OTAs that would bring you to currency. Sometimes that works, and sometimes because of software dependency issues it doesn't.

The sensor issues you refer to have nothing to do with the available software in your list. There is a procedure in FDRS to calibrate the sensors and if that doesn't work it provides troubleshooting and diagnosis for the tech to determine the problem and replace it if necessary.

All in all you have a set of powertrain updates (PCM, ABS, SOBDM, SOBDMB, SOBDMC, BECM), three cruise control related updates (CMR, PSCM, SCCM), a GFM update for your Frunk module, an HVAC update to help prevent windshield fogging and provide more heat, an OBCC update to update your DC fast charging function, and the APIM update for Sync.

If the tech is going to do any of those updates it's a good idea to get the APIM update done first to prevent any dependency issues keeping future updates from appearing.

Those powertrain updates are going out as OTA 6.6.0 BTW.

I took my car into the dealer back on 11/14 to look at the USB port and Sensor issues, and they came back and said there were a number of other updates (HVAC, blue cruise update, park brake harness, and charge cable stuck) that needed to happen. From what they told me, ALL of my issues, including the usb ports and sensors, were tired to a bad APIM, and when they tried to do ANY updates, the APM failed. They then said they needed to wait for a new APIM to be delivered, but that Ford wouldn't send one because they were "waiting on new programming" and I would have to wait until that part came in for them to fix anything. Honestly all sounded really fishy, and nowhere in there did they mention that they put in a new APIM. I told them to give me the car back while they "waited on the new APIM" so I could take it to a new dealer to get a second opinion.

Can you show me where you see a new APIM was installed? Sounds like they did work they didn't tell me about and didn't actually service what I went there for in the first place.

Well no I can't...I can tell they were working on it and that they did get a Manual Repair Code Validation to replace the APIM.....I didn't know if it had actually happened yet or not. And yes ...the USB port issue would be tied directly to an APIM that's faulty.

So when that APIM comes in and is replaced that should actually fix the problem. APIMs frequently do go on backorder because of the repair and reprogramming that is going on at the repair facilities.

Short version is I believe they are being honest with you on what the issue is, and you should just keep checking with them on the replacement APIM to come in. You might want to ask them if you have any other Field Service Actions (FSA) that would update other things like your HVAC for example...or maybe that OBCC.

I just re-read your previous post...not all of those issues are tied to the APIM. But I think they may have meant that when they get the new APIM in and are doing the programming they could update the other things while they're in there with FDRS. That sounds more like what they might have meant by that.

That's great insight, thank you...I'll follow up with them on the APIM, but would they be able to do any of those updates in the FDRS screenshot you sent without it? Could they get a head start, or would it all just have to be re-done when the new one came in?

Ok, so they could, in theory, fix the parking sensors, as long as it doesn't tie back to the APIM?

Unless they think the parking sensors is another symptom of a faulty APIM...which I guess it could be (I wouldn't have thought so but...maybe). But I think they'd like to do all of this at one time. Which makes sense from their perspective...one big FDRS session that sorts everything out.

OK, thank you again for your help! Much more clarity than I had before.
