I’m not able to close my charge port door. I looked at both the male and female parts and they look good. Has been fine for the last year and a half. When I push it in I get the normal resistance just doesn’t “catch”.
looking for help to fix or temporarily fix it until I can get it in for repair. First appointment was for Feb 7.

If it's due to cold temps, you can try squirting a little isopropyl alcohol on both the male and female parts. That worked for me when it got some moisture in it and froze. YMMV

If lock deicer fails to do the trick I would suggest painters tape to hold it closed! I assume you do not have a garage.

I remember someone replaced the male part. It comes from BMW. Easy, cheap fix.

I find warm cold causes a problem with the door wanting to close easy for me. I know I am out this morning and after the last time will need to take the hairdryer out prior to trying to close it this time.

My wife’s Mach-E had that same problem a year ago in warm weather. This fix may not apply to you. However, pushing back the black rubber boot that surrounds the male part several times worked for us. Also ensure that you’ve used enough gentle pressure to firmly close it.

This is one of the annoying parts on the MME. What I usually do is pull the flexible rubber back towards me and then push the door in and it works.

-18C (0F) here took the hairdryer to it and did make sure the rubber accordion was thawed and moving free. Still a bit stubborn to close but still working and not broke yet.

Spray with water displacement and then with PTFE
Water may freeze before hitting the port ;). I would say no water maybe lock deicer?

Noooooo, not water, water dispersant to expel the water? then some lubricant with some staying power that don’t clog hence PTFE.
