I think it's more like 8 cars per train car. The MME is too tall to stack 3-high. And if you measure the length of a railcar in the sat photo and compare it to the MMEs parked end-to-end in the lot, you only get 4 per railcar (stacked 2 high). (I'd previously been saying 10 but that was from the old sat photo with Fiesta's on the lot.)

36 railcars x 8 = 288.

But remember that it takes quite a bit of time to load them up and secure them. There's also only so many autorack railcars in the system, and only so many trains running. There's a few dozen auto manufacturer plans in Mexico sill running, and they need them too. And they have to be empties and returned for the next run.

I have no idea how many they really have available, but I'm guessing one run per day is probably realistic with all that. That's a capacity of about about 2000/week if running 7 days/week. Figure a couple of days to get to somewhere like Texas or Kansas City. Sounds like they may be offloading many at those points and reloading to trucks. But there's only so many of those too.
Right so even at 2000/week that empties the lots in a little under two weeks (which is still faster than @trutolife27 's earlier statement about shipping all 3500 cars in 3 weeks).

Sounds like some may be leaving the plant directly by truck too. But my guess is most of those are probably driving to the port for Europe instead. We saw euro plates on a few that were being loaded by truck at the plant in one photo.

It's about a 5-hour drive to Veracruz.

True not counting the trucks. My goal was just to get a SWAG for how fast all of those "piled up" Mach-E would be shipped out.

Adding in trucks shortens the timeframe....

They may not be able do so 7 days/week though. Particularly with Christmas coming up. And maybe they can't get daily shipments. I really don't know, just speculating from what seems reasonable.

Also, not sure if that was referring just to shipping out from the plant, or actually being delivered at dealerships.

And remember they're still cranking out more MMEs at the plant. That 3500 number was from the Dec 10 photo, which was 10 days ago. Probably another ~1000+ made since then. Gonna have to get up to a pace of nearly 2000/week to get out 50k-60k by the end of summer.

Yup just trying to get an idea of how long to get things moving, then its a matter of time--since mine is likely the 3501st vehicle in line.. ;)

Until mine is finished, I don't care about shipping. Then, it's the most important thing in the world. ???
Mine is finished, however ;)

Thats so short sighted. ?. You do want to worry now. You want all those in front of you to be cleared so when yours is built, right to the front of the line you go. ??

They can just move mine to the front past the others. Plenty of room.

Awesome.
That's a LOT of FE grabber blue! I guess they are getting them out of the way first (The first editions)
When I saw all those Grabber Blue cars, my first thought was those must be executive cars mostly. I imagine there might be an unspoken rule......now can you NOT select Grabber Blue as an executive car? It's Ford's signature color after all....

You are correct, 3 high isn't available with this car.
However, the load density chart for the Explorer, Escape and MKZ is 10 vehicles.
I think the MME falls into this category. I would expect 10 vehicles per autorack.

Has there been a report of someone's MME going to "Shipped" on Ford Vehicle Tracking?

That's what I had originally figured too from the old sat imagery with Fiestas lines up. But in the current sat photo in this thread, even 4 looks like it'll be tight. The length of each rail car pretty much measures the same as 4 MMEs lined up in the lot.

Which led me to suspect autoracks come in different lengths. So I compared the 2019 photo with the new one. Sure enough, there's 6 autoracks in the same space now that that showed 5 in 2019. The ones in there now are shorter.

Actually you do: you want the backlog cleared out of the way so yours can go straight onto a train!
