SunCien, my MME, has been lonely on the NW side of Tucson. Maybe now she'll be able to find geographically desirable mate. ?

I dug out my paperwork to refresh my memory as to what I paid for my 2022 CA Rt 1.

2022 CA Rt 1
51510 MSRP + 1100 destination = $52610
When you subtract out the $7500 tax credit I paid $45110

2023 CA Rt 1
48895 MSRP + 1800 destination = $50695

Still $5585 more than I paid.

That is still a huge price increase from 2022 - 2023 model years.

I just did the exact same thing. If I price what I bought in '22 on a '23, I paid just a bit more back then - $66,622 w/ free BC and nicer wheels vs $65,490 today. I'll take my build with the nicer wheels

Only big difference is $5k for the ER battery now vs. $8k back in '22

does anyone know of a chart that tracks MME prices over time since launch? So many ups and downs.

Less than 24 hours after lowering prices of its 2023 Mustang Mach-E models in Canada, Ford Motor Company has followed suit in the US, reducing MSRPs of all trims to adapt to slower EV demand. Lease programs offer additional discounts in the US, making the Mach-E more affordable than ever. Additionally, Ford has added new incentives for the F-150 Lightning.

It’s been over four years since Ford first unveiled the Mustang Mach-E – an all-electric crossover SUV that took one of its most celebrated nameplates and adapted it for the EV age (met with a mix of love and hate).

Since entering production as a 2021 model, the Mustang Mach-E has grown in popularity, becoming the second-best-selling electric SUV in the US in 2023. While it initially launched at a starting price just below $46,000 for its lowest tier RWD Select version, we’ve seen Mustang Mach-E prices gradually drop.

After a temporary halt of orders in 2023, Ford reopened its books in May, lowering the prices of all trims of the Mustang Mach-E, which has started at an MSRP of $42,995 since. Just yesterday, the American automaker announced lower pricing for Canadian customers, now a precursor to today’s latest pricing update.

Ford cuts 2023 Mach-E prices by up to $8,100
A spokesperson for Ford shared details of the lower prices for the Mustang Mach-E in an email to Electrek this morning, which said the following:

Here’s how the updates prices for the 2023 Mustang Mach-E’s break down:
2023 Mach-E TrimPrevious MSRP*New MSRP*Price Difference
Select RWD$42,995$39,895-$3,100
Select AWD$45,995$42,895-$3,100
Premium RWD$46,995$42,895-$4,100
Premium AWD$49,995$45,895-$4,100
Premium RWD (Extended Range)$53,995$45,895-$8,100
Premium AWD (Extended Range)$56,995$48,895-$8,100
California Route 1 AWD$56,995$48,895-$8,100
GT$59,995$52,395-$7,600
GT (Performance Edition)$64,995$57,395-$7,600
* – MSRPs do not include $1,800 in destination fees
Additionally, Ford pointed out that any 2023 Mustang Mach-E leased through Ford Credit is eligible for a $7,500 cash incentive. That’s in addition to the $7,500 federal tax credit for EV leases Ford passes on to its customers – meaning US buyers could lease a Mach-E for up to $13,000 off MSRP. Qualified buyers can also take advantage of 0% financing for 72 months.

Ford F-150 Lightning buyers can take advantage as well
In addition to the lower prices of the Mustang Mach-E, Ford followed up with additional news this morning, sharing it has also added new bonus cash incentives for certain trims of the 2023 F-150 Lightning.

The Lariat, XLT, and Pro versions of the 2023 Lightning currently qualify for a $7,500 retail credit for eligible customers at the point of sale. Still, Ford has added additional bonuses as follows:
If US consumers would prefer instead to pursue a lease of a 2023 F-150 Lightning, Ford has added some new offers to help sweeten the deal:
  • $1,500 red carpet lease cash for the XLT
  • $5,000 red carpet lease cash on the Lariat
  • $7,500 red carpet lease cash for a Platinum
WOW - hopefully that will help him get through some of the inventory.

I’m just going to keep my 2021 until I pay off the balloon on my Options contract. The 2023s can’t be configured how I want one and I have aftermarket add-ons on my car anyhow. ?‍♂?

I like looking over the fence to see what's "in the offing" but so far nothing has materialized that could motivate me to get different EVs.

So if you lease a GT, then you'll get an additional $3k off in retail cash + $7,500 lease incentive off? $18k+ in incentives if you lease a GT?

I wish the price I paid last May was the price it is today, but I needed a car in May, wanted an MME, and so I went ahead with the purchase. I see no need to cast recriminations or cause myself anguish for not knowing what the future would bring.
Precisely. I ordered my car in June of 2021. At the time, it was the best option for my wants and needs.

Local dealers will need time to update their websites of current 2023 models in their inventory. Contacted one this morning and confirmed the new pricing which was significantly lower than what they were showing online.

Like many, I could now get a GTPE for only a couple grand above what I paid for my Premium RWD with the Extended Battery option back in 2021. I just paid for 3 years of BlueCruise for only $600 as I purchased before BC was available. I doubt @Ford Motor Company would be nice enough to move that over to a new 2023. ? Would I get a refund?

Either way, a GTPE is awfully tempting. Not sure how the Ford Options lease would work here with a little more than a year left on it.
I contacted one and they had no clue.

Ford has made 3 price reductions since I purchased my GT PE. So, that just means my car is now worth less. I cringe thinking about when I trade this car in....and get so much less for it. As is....my opinion is that I will never purchase a Ford again.

Edit: article isn’t totally accurate anyway. We can’t get the 7500 tax credit anymore just 3500?
No, the MME doesn't qualify for any tax credit anymore if you purchase. If you lease, Ford will kick back $7500.
