Directly contradicts Ford's FAQ though:

Can anyone unlock an adapter while charging?
Just like any fast charging session, a session using an adapter can be stopped and disconnected by pushing the unlock button on the charge port. Ford is working to improve locking options for customers who may wish to leave their vehicle unattended while fast charging.
I’m a little worried about someone stealing my adapter now…. I would be furious to get the adapter just for someone to steal it straight off the car while it’s charging and I’m inside the grocery store or whatever.

So, @ChasingCoral , you’re using yours today and mine is coming in July. Pays to know somebody, I guess….
He has been an unpaid and unofficial ambassador for Ford EV's and extremely helpful here for years, so yes he was asked to be one of the early testers for the adapter. A well deserved opportunity IMHO.

They'll figure something out.

The 1st thing most people care about when they go car shopping is what will the monthly payment be. I’d say interest rates followed by purchase price followed by charging network would be the limiting factors.
Oh abso-fricken-lutely. I was being a bit tongue in cheek ?

It’s undoubtedly a good and nice gesture for him. Me, I’ve had my MchE for about as long and have definitely been an unpaid ambassador. My gift comes in, oh, about 4-5 months. That’s a pretty long time for such a big announcement to come to fruition., just sayin’.

Thanks I'll look for those posts. Sounds like It may be easier for me to just consolidate rather than using several apps
Checking the updated Tesla app. You can also initiate the session from there. You select the stall and set it to start charging.

So they got you one earlier than the rest of us. Mine is not shipping until June not in time for our upcoming trip to the plains.

A question
Does the NACS lock into the adapter? Don’t want some knob unplugging us like they do on the destination chargers.

That should not be possible for safety reasons. When the car locks the CCS side latch, that has to internally also lock the NACS to CCS latch in the adapter. There is no way that Tesla did not address this in the adapter design, they did it for the Magic Docks.

But since Ford has the stop charging button at the port on the car, another driver could push that button, then pull the NACs out of the adapter.
Don’t you have to have a key on you for that button to release the CCS?

The adapter in our Destination charger is activated by the power source, so I would imagine that the Supercharger will activate the pin in the adapter when connected to the vehicle, once power is interrupted, it will allow release of the adapter. That's at least what I think will happen.
This makes sense. The instructions say plug the NACS into the adapter then plug the adapter into the car. Then unplug the adapter from the car to release the NACS plug.

That's true..........but then I have 2 apps to keep up with.....not that big of a deal....but having 1 location to initiate a charge has it's merits

I agree. I do prefer the no-app option. The plug and charge works great. But it is good to know we have fail-safe options.
