Hi,

I recently got a 23 premium mach e (was probably sitting on the dealer's lot for some time). Got a few ota updates, but for the last 1-2 weeks seems like it's stuck on 4.2.4.

Thank you!

Just to add what I found talking to the techs at my local dealer, the OTA system will not apply updates to a module with any stored codes, even if they arent currently active and just in history.
They weren't sure why, but these cars love to set random loss of communication, open circuit, loss of vision for camera, etc. type of codes in the modules.

Which I can confirm while monitoring my car with the month of FDRS access I have, I do also usually see random loss of IPMA communication stored codes in ABS or random open circuit codes on RFA or random modules that if anything is showing orange in FDRS will from my understanding hold up an OTA if its pending.
I never get any check engine lights or warning that the car has had an issue but upon plugging it into FDRS you see these random codes popping up. Hopefully it can be fixed with some updates to the appropriate modules... Soon™

Oh yea. I don't think I've ever seen one vehicle that has zero codes in it. They all cry about something.

The bag boy at Publix has as much capability to trigger an update than the people who answer the phone at the OTA hotline. 50% of them are clueless, and 100% of them are powerless to do anything to help. All they can is look at PTS (which is what I do) and give you their interpretation of what they see based on little to no training or understanding of how any of this works.
The difference is that @rugedraw has taken the time to examine the information on multiple examples, observed the individual situations, and to postulate on the evidence he’s found. The people at the hotline basically read from a script. ?‍♂?

It really is crazy though I clear codes and 2 days later 2 more random ones pop up just stored. Nothing weird happened just car being picky. Like you said none of them are happy
Local tech speculated that the system doesn’t always shut down gracefully and some modules are having to reboot upon the next startup. But who knows what they are actually doing when “turned off”

Have my car at the dealer now for some software updates and hopefully fix the pre-collision camera fault cable issue (and to get a quote on a broken mirror). Any ideas what they've tried so far? Telling me frunk button, for example, isn't available, even though I've got the steps required.

They also were looking at TSB 22-2143 for the parking brake faults, and TSB 23-2040 for driver assistance feature issues.

You have at least three updates, possibly four that might help with the headlight issues:

Hello, my dealer only updated HCM,LDCMA,LDCMB, things improved, but not so much, the light it's still not so bright on the driver's side... Also, another problem was created: a neighbor called me to check my headlights because they seemed to be turned on, and this was true, even if my car was parked for more than 12 hours...Should I go back to the dealer and gather the logs and send them to Ford, and also ask for headlight module replacement? For me, it seems that this is an endless story... :(

I just had my car in a few weeks ago for recalls and to sort out what seemed to be stuck OTAs. Would someone please be kind enough to check my VIN - 3FMTK3SU4NMA15447.

On the SYNC Software Update screen it says the last OTA I received was on November 30, 2023.

Thanks.
