Yeah, that’s what I was thinking too. They made such a big deal about, you think they would have had a bigger production run ready to go.
Well you can buy one right now from Lectron (and another AZ?) that will arrive in March, and gotta feeling in one month you will be able to buy one from an even more trusted vendor (like TeslaTap) all of which will have been shown to work well with Mach-Es. This will at least permit those who want to start roadtripping in summer the chance to do so with Tesla Superchargers as an option.

For anyone with an EV from another brand.... I have a hypothetical question:

Couldn't you just take this Ford adapter and use the Telsa app to activate the Supercharger, then plug in a Rivian, Bolt, etc (anything with CCS)?

Or no, the SC will look at the CCS handshake (or VIN) and decline to operate until that manufacturer has been brought on-board?

can you share the check order status URL? although i seemed to have placed the order/reservation, and a ford CSR gave me a reservation #, i still haven't seen any email, thus i don't know how to see if ford's servers really think i made the reservation. nor do i have any idea of an estimated ship date.

thanks
This seems to work for me. Replace {vin} with your actual VIN. You might need to log into your Ford account first:

It appears that the Super Charger knows when it's not connected to a Ford EV:

Yup, part of the certificate hand shake for the communication standard is what Tesla is looking at.

Weird. Mine gives a “VIN not found on your account“ error despite copy pasting the VIN from my account. I tried to chat with Ford to confirm the order, but the didn't have any info.

Zero Superchargers open to us within the city of Chicago. Zero. Despite having hundreds of stations. None are within city limits (within reach when not on a road trip). This whole dog and pony will do nothing to increase adoption. It’ll make our lives a bit easier on road trips, but that’s it.

Oh, and pricing is set for each station differently. And it’s mostly more than EA — $0.53/ kWh during the day, when you’ll do most of the driving. Unless you want to pay $12.99/ month for a membership.

Are you including delivery charges, taxes, surcharges, etc.
Yes, is everything except 7% sales tax.
The fairest / most complete way of getting your fully loaded cost per KwH is to look at your electric bill (or last few months of bills), take the total amount paid and divide by the KwH used during that period.

Otherwise, taxes and fees (and in some locations, transmission costs) can inflate the per/KwH cost substantially.

For example, for the person reporting their family member is getting $.03 in Texas, in Texas transmission charges are separate and range up above $0.06/KwH plus an up to $8 fee per month. Plus other charges, fees, and taxes. So the person getting an advertised $0.03/KwH is almost certainly really paying above $0.10/KwH. (Which is still a good deal, don't get me wrong, but reporting $0.03/KwH is highly misleading!)

Weird. Mine gives a “VIN not found on your account“ error despite copy pasting the VIN from my account. I tried to chat with Ford to confirm the order, but the didn't have any info.
If you didn't get an order confirmation email and you get an error message when you use the below link (replace bolded text with your VIN), then you might need to try ordering again?

Looks like most of them are V1 or V2. Best I can tell, there are only 2 sites that are V3 that aren't available (Elston Ave, South Pulaski Rd).

Alas, the option to order has disappeared.

I’m on the line with Ford’s EV team, they’re as baffled as I am, and are going to try punting me to FordPass CS and see if they can recover the order info.

EDIT: Ford Pass says we have to talk to marketing, now we are waiting for them to conference in.

EDIT EDIT: Marketing says no, it’s a Ford Pass issue, we’ve been sent to a different number at Ford Pass.

EDIT EDIT EDIT: Ford Pass’s rep is baffled and has now been punted to some internal tech support or something.

EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT: now I’ve been offloaded to e-commerce.

EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT: a full hour since the original call started, E-commerce says they can see the VIN has been redeemed for a NACS adapter but can’t see the order yet, they say the system is really screwed up right now and some confirmation emails got delayed/never went out. So, they can see I made an order, but can’t give my any information yet. Weirdly, the order could only be found from my VIN, there’s no FordPass account associated with it yet in their system, which caused some confusion, but she can see the VIN does have an adapter associated with it. They gave me a case # and said to wait a few days and see if the order info shows up in Connected Services finally, and if it doesn’t call back and they’ll try again or force an order or something.

How can you tell the difference? Charging speed? I don’t see a filter for version #.

Yeah, V1s are something like 72-75kWh, V2 is 150kWh, then V3 are 250kWh. I know there are some V3 stations that Tesla is holding back and it looks like stations with both V2 and V3 aren't online for us either.
