as near as i can tell from the pics there is no charging port on these. ?
That's the only major bummer, the port is on the right rear. :(

I guess they wanted it to back into RAN charging stations which are positioned to the left (opposite of Tesla). Too bad they couldn't have put the port in the front like the R1, but that probably costs more.

I saw that too. He's a little better cap from the video. Right-rear would be a weird choice though.

It certainly is odd. One would think they'd move them to the driver side rear to better match up with Tesla chargers since they're adopting the NACS port like almost everyone else.

I guess they saved on styling costs by copying an eighties four door Golf.

Reservation placed. It's not a pickup truck, but it might replace or complement the Mustang in a couple of years.

Can't decide if the R3/R3X looks more like an old VW or a Yugo. Either way, pretty ugly.

Or right front. That would be my 1st choice.

I recently saw a video of Farley answering a question about native NACS port placement. He didn't say it explicitly, but he said they'll do what makes sense to accommodate SCs, so sounds likely either front-right or rear-left.

It is, from every angle but the front. But small commuter cars usually are.

That triangle rear is hard to get past. But as noted above, a number of models that have it from decades past have sold pretty well anyway.

From the video I thought the R2 would be bigger than the MME but looks like the overall length is essentially identical. I just want something with a few more inches of leg room but not $80k. Will see how it comes out in the end though.

This looks amazing. I made a reservation. We'll see where things stand in 2-3 years.
R2 should look even more amazing in one of the great Rivian 'color' colors. Surprised they picked boring white.

I'm not so sure that's really the charge port. Seems too low.

Meh . . . two years away for the R2 and loaning them $100. Seems like they announced to try to get more runway. Hard to believe that $45K price will stay 2 years from now too. I hope they succeed, and the vehicles look nice, but I am pretty much done with 2 year waits and deposits.

And no date on the R3 - which could/would be a game changer if it were coming out now.

Same. Reservation made. It should roughly coincide with the end of my Ford Options contract. Might not keep it in the end, but it was too tempting at only 100 bucks!
